Iggy Azalea got candid about a “very mentally challenging” time that could’ve ruined her career.
The Australian singer shared the crazy news on Twitter on Monday, November 28th.
Iggy Azalea Tells A Crazy Personal Story
In a series of tweets she wrote, “Wanna hear a crazy story? I was supposed to travel to Australia and film a movie but right before I left I had what I thought would be a rather mundane surgery on my back to fix the issues I had after touring two summers in a row on an injury… It didn’t end up being very mundane because I had complications with my recovery & ended up in bed hooked up to a million machines and in so much pain there are about 3 days I actually just can’t remember at all.”
Iggy’s story didn’t end there.
“I didn’t walk except to use the bathroom ( a whole other ordeal lol) for 3 weeks & you’d be shocked to know how weak you can get when you don’t actually move. It happens really fast,” she continued to reveal. “A week ago I was cleared to get up and start moving again. I’ve been seeing someone daily at the house and we do lil workouts (they are so sad y’all lol) I’ve been getting back strong. I will recover 100%. My goal is to be in good health by Christmas. It’s been very mentally challenging to suddenly not be able to do anything for yourself and have no answers about when you will recover. That was the hardest part but all the Drs have been so happy with how quickly I’m getting better now that I’m back moving & walking.”

Iggy noted she won’t be in any movie, but she’s thankful to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Iggy Sees The Light At The End Of The Tunnel
“Obviously I won’t be in any movie. Missed that opportunity (damn it!) But I’m just thankful to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. I think I’m gonna seriously get into my fitness after this. I value my body in a whole new way after this experience,” Iggy wrote. “I still can’t fly so I haven’t made it on any vacations or back to Australia yet, but damn it! That vacation is gonna happen eventually!!!! Stay healthy everyone and pay attention to what your body is telling you! I’ll let you know how it’s all going in a few more weeks.”
Prior to her back surgery, The Blast reported on her retirement reversal.
After a year of not releasing any song, the rapper and songwriter announced her return to the rap industry.
The “Black Widow” singer previously intended to walk away from music after the release of her 2021 project, “The End of An Era.”
Iggy changed her mind about quitting music less than a year out of the studio.
Iggy Comes Out Of Retirement
So, fans were extremely pleased when she took to Twitter to announce her return to the music scene. The 32-year-old wrote, “A year ago I was willing to walk away from music because I was tired of the negative energy it attracted. But what I’ve learned is that even when I’m minding my business, y’all gonna be negative AND nosey. So if I can’t have peace, neither can you. I’m coming back. Cry about it.”
As expected, her revelation got fans buzzing and one person responded writing, “she saw that nobody can make twerk songs better than her and had to come back, period.”
Another avid fan gushed, “Omfgggggg iggy is coming back let’s goooooooo y’all stay mad [nail polish emoji] Missed u [crying and heart emoji].”
