'Labor Of Love' star Kristy Katzmann is going off on one of the male contestants on her new reality show, who had the audacity to put a numerical number on her physical looks after she eliminated him.
In a scathing statement, posted on the star's Instagram, Kristy blasted the guy for making such a comment.
"On being called “a 4 at best.” For those of you who tuned into Episode 3 of @laboroflovefox you may know what I’m talking about. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, this post is still for you. Let me explain. On last night’s episode, one of the men called me a 4 (in reference to my physical appearance) after I eliminated him. And yes, I have a few things to say about it," she began...
She continued, "First, I am aware that comment has everything to do with him, and nothing to do with me. Second, it still hurt. I have spent my life being judged by and ripped apart for my physical appearance. The damage this did to me at such a young age is something I still struggle with today. I developed such severe dysmorphia that for years I looked in the mirror and truly saw a monster."
Katzmann explained how she is fully aware that agreeing to do a reality show, would open her up to opinions about her physical appearance, but felt she should speak out about this situation.
"While I have come a long way since then, my physical appearance is something I still struggle with, more than I’d like to admit. To agree to be the lead in a television show, where I would without question be judged for my appearance, took tremendous courage and a willingness to look my demons in the eye and say, “not today.” It’s a mantra I have to repeat often. I’m shaking as I write this because it’s such a significant trigger for me. I hesitated in writing this given everything happening in the world, but ultimately it’s exactly WHY I’m speaking out," she wrote.
"JUDGING PEOPLE BY THEIR APPEARANCE HAS TO STOP, and it has to stop now," she added.
The 'Labor Of Love' star addressed the ongoing situation surrounding the killing of George Floyd and said "I am deeply saddened by the way people continue to treat one another. My heart is heavy. I am speaking out because I don’t stand for it, and I won’t remain silent any longer. I am speaking out because I am sick and tired of people judging other people based solely on physical appearance."
The reality star finished her reaction to the show moment by saying, "So maybe I am a “4,” and maybe I’m good with that. I AM “4” treating others with kindness and respect. I’m “4” truly getting to know someone and not judging a book by its cover. I’m “4” all of us shining our light and going after our dreams. So, yes, I guess you could say I’m proud to be called a “4.” ❤️??"
