Lea Michele is facing backlash after issuing an apology after several of her former castmates put her behavior on blast. The 33-year-old was accused by ex “Glee” star Samantha Marie Ware of making life on set a “living Hell” and threatening to “shit” in her wig. The accusations came as a response to the pregnant star’s Black Lives Matter post. She tried to correct the damage by posting an apology for her behavior on her Instagram Tuesday but her followers are labeling it “fake” and screaming that it’s not good enough.
As The Blast reported, after Ware claimed that Lea Michele “tormented” the “Glee” set, several other co-stars came out swinging with their own accusations. Others stated they were here for the tea. She was also fired as a spokesperson for HelloFresh, who stated they do “not condone racism nor discrimination of any kind.” Lea Michele attempted to correct her image by sharing heartfelt words in an apology that has since backfired miserably.

“One of the most important lessons of the last few weeks is that we need to take the time to listen and learn about other people’s perspectives and any role we have played or anything we can do to help address the injustices that they face,” she wrote. Lea Michele, whose Black Lives Matter tweet over the weekend caused Ware to respond with her accusations, continued, “When I tweeted the other day, it was meant to be a show of support for our friends and neighbors and communities of color during this really difficult time.”
She also claimed, “I don’t remember ever making this specific statement and I have never judged others by their background or the color of their skin,” but admitted, “What matters is that I clearly acted in ways which hurt other people.” Fans were not impressed with Lea Michele’s “apology” and immediately filled her comments by slamming the star for her weak attempt. “One of the worse apologies I’ve ever read. It’s not an apology,” one follower responded to her statement.
“Probably don’t recall the behavior because seems to be a pattern for you with costars and probably just anybody in general that you can’t gain anything from,” posted a second. “This is so fake,” added someone else. Several are calling her a “racist.”
“I’m sorry if you thought I was acting racist,” a follower commented. “Okay but why does she keep saying ‘perceived as’ that’s basically her saying that she doesn’t think she acted the racist way people think she did,” mirrored another. “Unfollowing effective immediately,” wrote a third.
Lea Michele has yet to respond to the apology backlash.
