Bill & Melinda Gates Break Silence As Daughter Jennifer Is Set To Give Them Their First Grandchild

The Gates family is expanding as tech Billionaire Bill Gates and his ex-wife, Melinda Gates, are set to be grandparents!

Although they divorced in 2021, they share three kids, Jennifer, Phoebe, and Rory. Last year, the first daughter of the business magnate got married to Nayel Nassar in a lavish wedding. A year after their marriage, they announced they are expecting a baby. 

Bill and Melinda took to Instagram to gush about the wonderful news shortly after the equestrian announced it.

The 25-year-old equestrian and her husband announced the big news on Instagram with two adorable snaps. The first snap showed the new couple all smiles as they embraced each other while posing in front of a country yard. Gates wore a green maxi dress that hugged her growing belly while her man rocked a black top with black pants.

The following image featured only the 25-year-old as she cradled her cute bump. In the caption of the post, she expressed her joy by writing, “Thankful??"

Fans and other celebrities took to congratulating the soon-to-be parents. A sweet comment read, “You’re going to be the best parents ❤️❤️❤️❤️congratulations.”

Marcy Blum, who had planned the couple’s wedding, wrote, “I am overjoyed for you, we need wonderful people to make more wonderful people sending so much love ❤️.” However, no one was more excited than Bill and Melinda, who are about to be grandparents.

The mother of the 25-year-old gushed in the comment section, “I couldn't be more excited to meet this little one and watch you two become parents.” Melinda, who couldn’t contain her joy, then took to her Instagram Story to repost the heartwarming picture while telling her fans that she “couldn’t stop smiling.

Bill had the same level of excitement as the Microsoft co-founder reposted the information on his Instagram stories. Alongside the post, he detailed how he felt, writing, “PROUD ❤️.”

Fans would recall that last year the billionaire’s daughter walked down the aisle with her long-time lover, Nassar. As we previously documented, the newlyweds first met at an equestrian circuit, and they began dating. Their relationship bloomed into a proposal on Gates’ favorite ski run in January 2020.

The fairy tale wedding was planned by Marcy Blum Events, while Rishi Patel of HMR Designs was in charge of the stunning floral designs.

Jean Georges and Creative Edge Catering provided delicious meals, and the six-layer floral-adorned cake was made by the celebrity baker Sylvia Weinstock.

The bride dressed in a glamorous custom-designed Vera Wang long-sleeve ivory gown with hand-appliqué French macrame lace on the bodice, sleeves, and her chapel length veil.

The groom also looked handsome in a dapper Armani tux paired with a Lily of the Valley boutonniere that complemented his wife’s bouquet.

The happy bride also shared a picture that captured the sensational moment she walked down the aisle with her man captioning it “My Universe,” followed by a white heart emoji and their wedding date.

The tech mogul has witnessed his daughters accomplish remarkable feats. Two months ago, we reported that the youngest daughter of the Gates, Phoebe, gave a shout-out to British Vogue for interning with a reputable publication. 

She shared a carousel of pictures where she posed alongside other workers at the renowned publication. She posed with British Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, and Vanessa Kingori, the outlet’s Publishing Director.

“Thank you, @britishvogue, for giving me the internship of a lifetime,” Phoebe gushed in the caption. “It was an honor to work with some of the best in the business and learn from you all.”

As expected, the publication acknowledged Phoebe’s gratitude as some of its members, and fans, flooded the comment section with sweet words. Kicking things off was climate activist Sophia Kianni, who hailed the 20-year-old as a fashion queen.

Also, the magazine’s publishing director pointed out that it was a “pleasure” working with the young lady, and stylist Thomas Christos Kikis expressed his pride over Phoebe’s achievements. This celebration came days after the media personality turned 20. For her celebration, she received an outpouring of love from her family. 

Her older sister, Jennifer, marked the birthday with a throwback image on Instagram. She captioned, “Happy Birthday to the smart, beautiful, amazing @phoebegates. So proud of you.”

Her father echoed similar feelings in his Instagram post. In the sweet tribute to his last daughter, the 66-year-old wrote, “One of the greatest joys of my life is watching my kids grow into amazing adults. Happy Birthday, @phoebegates. I’m so proud of you.”
