Madison Beer was tear-gassed while protesting in Santa Monica on Sunday.
The rising pop star, 21, tweeted just before 4 PM PT: “LEAVE SANTA MONICA NOW IF YOU CAN I WAS JUST TEAR GASSED THEY ARE ARRESTING EVERYONE AND TEAR GASSING ALL CROWDS."
On Instagram Live, Beer advised the 35,000 tuned in: “If you’re in Santa Monica, please leave now. They’re tear-gassing everything everywhere. I was just tear-gassed and I can’t breathe."
She struggled to catch her breath before making a final plea.

"Please, if you're at Santa Monica and you're at the riots, please go home."
The Live session was abruptly ended after that.
Beer was Justin Bieber in 2012 and later signed by his manager Scooter Braun. They have since severed their professional relationship, but the young singer built a massive following along the way.
Joining Beer on the frontlines yesterday was fellow pop star Halsey, who reports that Los Angeles police officers shot her with rubber bullets.
Like Halsey, Beer has been actively documenting her activism during the protests - but some are questioning why she felt the need to go "Live."

Several explained Beer's intention was stated in yesterday's "Live" stream, that she did so "to tell people whats going on and what is happening there."
Another added Beer's hoped "to show that it isn’t as violent as the media is making it seem."
Things drastically changed for the "Dear Society" singer on Sunday.
After initially sharing she had been tear-gassed on "Live" (and adding an additional snap to her Story), Beer showed a string of wailing police cars arriving alongside an armored truck.

Many of her millions are continuing to show concern for her safety, as she hasn't said anything since.
The phrase "STAY SAFE PLEASE" is being continuously repeated in the Twitter replies. She's also receiving many different kinds of support:
"I may be from across the pond (i.e Ireland) but I stand with you and everyone protesting against this terrible crime. Keep fighting. Don’t stand down," one fan wrote.
Several others shared instructions for proper eye treatment after one is exposed to mace or tear gas.

Just before 10 PM PT last night, Beer reminded her Twitter followers that "LA CURFEW BEGINS IN 10 MINUTES."
"Please, to all my friends who are out protesting still, stay safe. apparently ICE and riot police are coming so pls pls pls stay alert and aware of your surroundings. please protect one another."
And just before being tear-gassed today, Beer was still deciding which protest she would attend.
"Just trying to find a good one to go to," she tweeted earlier. "If anyone hears of another peaceful protest in LA today let me know. "
