Halsey Marks Son's Pregnancy Discovery Date With THIS Emotional Song

Halsey cannot get enough of motherhood as they let fans in on more details surrounding the pre-birth of their only child, Ember Ridley, whom they share with Turkish-American screenwriter Alev Aydin. 

In a new candid Instagram reel, the much-loved songwriter disclosed the date they found out about their pregnancy and did not stop there but went on to mark the special day with an emotional song simultaneously.

November 21 is a "personal holiday for Halsey, as they declared so in their update given that it was their pregnancy discovery date. The clip also showed them wearing a sweatshirt and a bucket hat while they strummed the strings of a guitar and belted out heartfelt lyrics of a song from one of their albums.

As they sang, short notes appeared across the reel, beginning with the title of the music, "1121," and the reason behind the title. Their lyrics read, "It's called that because 11/21 is the day that I found out I was pregnant," before adding, "I'm here now singing it quietly…because that baby is asleep in the other room."

In concluding the heartwarming clip, the 28-year-old musician shared a white heart emoji after confessing that the song was a way of preparing themselves "for a heartbreak that never came." 

Such candid words triggered fans' adoration in the comments section, as many appreciated Halsey's honesty and expressed affection for the music's influence. A fan penned a lengthy message of gratitude that partly read, "A holiday for all of us who love you. We'll never forget the beginning of the chapter that has brought you the most joy in your life."

She further mentioned how privileged she felt to have seen Halsey in different challenging situations, including being a mother, their struggle with PCOS, and being heartbroken when they were told about their possible infertility.

Another follower gushed, "i love you so much, ashley. this is so beautiful, i'm so happy for you and your family, you guys are so amazing. i hope your future is full of love and happiness<3."

One more fan agreed about the beauty of the "Closer" songstress' song while noting that not many people understood the depth of heartbreak or the difficulty in remaining hopeful to have another child after losing a first one. 

She then admitted that she could "feel all of that" in the musical piece and thanked Halsey for it. At the same time, a supporter felt teary-eyed as they professed their love to the music icon. The same fan added:

"You probably will never know how much your art affects me," alongside a smiley with three hearts and crying emojis.

Two months following the birth of the "Now or Never" singer's only son in 2021, she blessed fans with a view of his cute face for the first time in an Insta post reported by The Blast. The adorable carousel featured Ender with rosy cheeks, beaming at the camera while being held by his doting father.

It was undoubtedly a surprise to fans given that since the boy's birth on July 14, the parents only posted glimpses of him but never his face. Nevertheless, Halsey could not help but mark their birthday with the post as they called Ender via the caption "the best birthday gift there is."

While the "Bad at Love" vocalist has immeasurable affection for their son, they also reserve some for their songs, particularly the "f*ck you" ones. The Blast reported that one of such songs is "Without Me" which Halsey released after their split from their ex G-Eazy, alongside a bunch of other "f*ck you" songs.

During a recent appearance at the Hollywood Bowl, held in honor of the ninth annual "We Can Survive" concert, they credited brilliant songwriter Alanis Morissette for aiding them in perfecting their "f*ck you" songwriting prowess.

Halsey admitted that Morissette taught them their entire life how to write the best "f*ck you" songs, and without them, they probably would not have written the most significant piece of their career so far.

The Billboard Music Awards winner referred to their single, "Without Me," released in 2018, which they performed for the crowd and called "very Alanis-esque."
