'Teen Mom' Maci McKinney and Ryan Edwards Can't Agree on Parenting

"Teen Mom OG" star Maci Bookout McKinney is expressing concern about her ex's parenting. In a clip from the upcoming episode, McKinney worries that Ryan Edwards has not been fostering their 11-year-old son's goals to wrestle.

McKinney says that Edwards has criticized the strict diet Bentley must live by in order to meet his wrestling goals. McKinney has a lot to say about this, considering that Bentley has found wrestling to be a great outlet in the wake of dealing with his father's addiction issues.

McKinney reveals that Bentley has a goal to make it into a specific weight class, and he is taking private lessons in order to do that. His lessons include a diet that she describes as "very strict" but also "healthy."

She also expresses concern that when she sends him to his grandparents' house, he will be persuaded or forced off his diet. With Bentley splitting time between two homes, staying in his weight class and remaining a competitive athlete can be very difficult.

In the upcoming episode, Edwards is seen telling his son that wrestling is all about technique and strength, so he should be gaining weight. Edwards tells Bentley that he's going to stunt his growth.

McKinney and Edwards have been butting heads about parenting in the wake of Edwards' addiction issues and a restraining order she placed against him after violent threats.

This is not the first time Edwards has been unsupportive of his son on television. In a recent episode, Edwards mocked his son crying after a breakup.

McKinney has made it clear that she is trying to foster the relationship between Bentley and Edwards, in the wake of some difficult events. Edwards had allegedly made threats against the family in the past, making a relationship difficult.

McKinney says that she and her husband, Taylor, have to make an extra effort to get Bentley to speak about his feelings. In the most recent episode, McKinney and Taylor set up a talk with Bentley to discuss feelings, emotions, and issues related to puberty and growing up.
