Manchester United Wishes Cristiano Ronaldo 'Well' After Shocking Departure

Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent.
The soccer superstar is no longer a team member of Manchester United.
The shocking news was announced on Tuesday, November 22nd.
Cristiano Ronaldo Says "Peace Out Manchester United"
The English soccer club announced the news in a statement shared on their website.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” the club’s official website read. “The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
The Shocking Statement
The “breakup” comes a week after Ronaldo did an exclusive interview with Piers Morgan and said he felt “betrayed” by Man U.
He also said he has ZERO respect for the club’s head coach, Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag suspended Ronaldo in October due to his refusing to appear as a substitute during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham.
“I don’t have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said in released excerpts from an interview with Piers Morgan. “If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”
Prior To His Departure, He Spoke Poorly Of Head Coach
According to the soccer star, he’s been looking for a way out of Man U since the summer, but it’s due in part to Ten Hag forcing to remove him from the team.
“I felt betrayed,” Ronaldo said. “I don’t care, people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn’t want me here, not only this year but last season too.”
He Felt "Betrayed" By Man U
Ronaldo released his own statement on his departure.
"Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early," the statement said. "I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge. I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future."
Ronaldo will make his World Cup return on Thursday, November 24th, playing for Portugal.
Twitter went NUTS over the news.
“Scary hours 🙅🏽♂️ 🧢,” one person tweeted.
“We don’t need him” someone responded.
“Cristiano go bye bye,” another tweeted.
According to reports, Ronaldo has played in 10 games for Manchester United this season, scoring only one goal for the squad. United has had three different managers, has won no trophies, and has been inconsistent throughout since he arrived back in England last season.
“Since [manager] Sir Alex [Ferguson] left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed,” he said.
