"Jeopardy!" champion Mattea Roach has nothing but praise for the "Jeopardy!" 2022 Tournament of Champions winner Amy Schneider.
Although Mattea beat Amy in the exhibition match held on Election Day, Mattea didn't make it to the final round of the tournament. Instead, Amy faced off against her previous competitor Andrew He and Professor’s Tournament winner Sam Buttrey.
The best-of-three competition was incredibly close. Going into game six, Sam won one game, while Andrew and Amy each had two wins. In the Final Jeopardy! round, Amy bet big, which allowed her to pull off the win.
After the tournament was over, Mattea, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, took to Twitter to praise Amy, who is trans, for being a tireless advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and a great "Jeopardy!" player too!

“One of the most meaningful moments of taping #JeopardyTOC for me was getting to tell @Jeopardamy directly something I’d said to press a bunch during my run on the show - that I truly believe watching her run made it possible for me to succeed on the show myself," Mattea tweeted.

Amy replied, "I’m proud and grateful to know you, too. The whole point of everything is not that I am some unique special person. It’s that we all are, we all deserve to shine bright, and I’ve loved seeing your light in my world."
Mattea responded with several heart emojis, adding, "can’t wait to see what life has in store for us, can’t wait to see what other great champions Jeopardy produces in the coming years."
Amy Thanks Wife Genevieve Davis For Her 'Jeopardy!' Win
I owe so much to so many people today. But above all, I can’t find enough ways to say how lucky I am that the most amazing woman in the world has chosen to spend her life with me. I love you, Genevieve, and I could never, ever have done this without you ❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/gKwOfYz9C5

On Tuesday, Amy Schneider took to Twitter to share a photograph of her and her wife, Genevieve Davis, together behind the "Jeopardy!" podium after her Tournament of Champions win.
"I owe so much to so many people today. But above all, I can’t find enough ways to say how lucky I am that the most amazing woman in the world has chosen to spend her life with me," she tweeted. "I love you, Genevieve, and I could never, ever have done this without you."
Many fans offered their congratulations to Amy for the win. “Congratulations Amy! I was rooting for you the entire time!” one fan commented. “I noticed that every time you talked about your wife, you started answering questions like the champion you are!”
“Man you’re a great champion. Deserving of everything coming your way,” another follower wrote. “Love watching you play. Best of luck to you both.”
“Congratulations Just finished watching you win!!!! It’s been such a treat to see you back on the show,” a third fan added. “Will miss you all over again. The best competitor prevailed in the end.”
Although the two tied the knot earlier this year, Amy revealed that she and Genevieve plan to have a much larger wedding and a proper honeymoon once her post-Jeopardy! fame settles down a little bit.
Considering how she won $1.3 million during her initial 40-game run and $250,000 for coming in first in the 2022 Tournament of Champions, fans can't wait to see the photos of the extravagant wedding the beautiful couple deserves!
