Draya Michele had unique terminology for her latest underwear display. The 35-year-old reality star and Mint Swim founder updated her Instagram stories ahead of Memorial Day weekend with a little promo as she honored her ambassador role for Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty lingerie line.
Draya – once known for starring on “Basketball Wives LA” – updated from her bed and showing off the body that now fronts her multi-million dollar swimwear empire. The star’s 8 million followers got Draya in her signature, candid style, plus an interesting way to refer to tight pink underwear.
Scroll for a snippet from the video. Draya, currently in quarantine from L.A., was seen lounging around her bed and showing off her stunning figure in the same skin-tight pink-and-white spot lingerie that fellow Savage x Fenty face Christina Milian was spotted in recently – 38-year-old “Dip It Low” singer Christina amusingly chopped veggies in the undies for her promo.
Addressing Instagram as you “cool cats and kittens,” Draya said: “It’s SavagexFenty time,” before referring to her cute bralette and matching panties set. “This is the little loungewear/pajamas, um, I love this set,” she continued.
Rihanna’s best-selling lingerie line, now seeing rapper Megan Thee Stallion as its lead ambassador, has been sweeping Instagram via cherry-picked celebrity faces. RiRi’s line is now represented by stars including singer Normani and Lil Wayne’s 21-year-old daughter Reginae Carter, with Beignet Box founder Christina Milian making headlines for her recent Savage x Fenty promo.
Draya, meanwhile, continues her grip on social media via her Fashion Nova partner status, Revolve collab, plus the 2011-founded Mint Swim brand that billionaire Kylie Jenner chose for her 2019 Turks & Caicos vacation.
Draya’s Savage x Fenty posts tend to lack a #ad, instead seeing Draya influence via an ambassador status that’s largely accepted as seeing the celebrity accept some form of pay in return for the shout-out. Experts at Vox broke down suggested earnings.
“Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post!”
Draya’s Mint Swim brand is no small-time deal. The star founded the company with the $12,000 she saved up, then seeing it valued at $1 million in 2017.
“I’m constantly designing and producing stuff, so when comes out, I’ll put it out. If Selena Gomez feels like wearing [our swimsuit], which has happened before, it’s going to sell out in probably 14 seconds. But I have the ability to make 3,000 more,” she told Refinery29.
