Although Scott Disickand Sofia Richiehave been one of the most controversial couples within the KarJenner family circle, they have proven that age is just a number for the nearly three years they have been together. After all, Scott Disick is almost 40 while Sofia Richie is only 21.

With the major age difference, many have wondered how they have lasted this long. They have proven, however, that when it comes to love, age is really just a number.

Although the couple have remained together for almost three years, according to a close source to them, they are taking a break from their relationship. This news has left many fans to wonder if it is only a matter of time before they officially break up and go on with each of their own lives.

The couple started dating in 2017. Before dating Sofia Richie, Disick was in a high-profile relationship with Kourtney Kardashian and they were together for almost 10 years. The former couple had three children together and their relationship was chronicled on the hit reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Even their children's births were on live TV for the country to watch. So, this is how you may remember and know Scott Disick. After all, he became famous for dating a Kardashian and appearing on the TV show. He still makes appearances from time-to-time as the two are co-parenting their three children together.

Sofia Richie is Lionel Richie's youngest daughter, Nicole Richie's younger sister, and a famous model. She is also one of Kylie Jenner's best friends.

Scott Disick and Sofia Richie started dating only within a few months of he and Kourtney breaking up.

Disick suffers from emotional problems such as depression. He also drinks alcohol, which doesn't mix well when you are suffering from a mental illness such as depression. After all, alcohol is a depressant itself and can and will make depression worse.

One reason Disick suffers from depression is because he lost both of his parent's. Fans followed along with the show as they watched his and Kourtney's relationship spiral out of control because of his alcohol problems and the depression he was dealing with.

Just recently, in early May, Disick admitted on the show that he is still dealing with the emotional trauma of losing his mom and dad many years ago. He is suffering from emotional problems so bad still that he decided to check into a rehab facility to get the help he needed for them and to learn how to deal with his emotions better.

Sofia Richie encouraged Disick to get the help he needed She supports him in every way that he needs it.

This is the reason the couple are on a break. Disick is in rehab and Richie encouraged him to get the help he needed to be able to come back as the person he is meant to be in life.

Will this controversial couple break up for good, though? Although, Yahoo reports that Disick is out of rehab, could his mental health issues be the cause of his relationship with Richie to end for good? Or will they get back together and continue where they left off?

Although they are not broken up for good, yet, Paper reported on May 21, that the couple have decided to take a break so that Disick can work on his own problems with depression.
