“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis said she was making a full statement about racist messages sent but then went MIA.
Kathryn is currently dealing with the consequences of sending a monkey emoji to a black radio host, Mika Gadsen. The two were fighting on social media about a “Trump Boat Parade.”
Mika shared the messages writing, “This is what happens when a Black woman in #Charleston speaks up against white supremacy.” Kathryn issued a half-hearted apology but fans have still been calling for Bravo to remove her from “Southern Charm.”
In the days since the story broke, Kathryn has been accused of leaking false rumors about her former costar, Cameran Eubanks, in an alleged attempt to deflect from the racism allegations.
Over the weekend, Kathryn took to social media writing, “I’m freakin heartbroken and SO depressed because the way I’m being portrayed is totally not true!!!” The reality star claimed to always use the monkey emoji and didn’t know who she was talking to during the fight.
She said, “I use that emoji all the time bc it looks silly and awkward and that’s my baseline. The account was anonymous I didn’t even know who I was messaging??? And now I’ve been labeled all this crazy stuff and it’s just not true. And it’s not fair. And I see now that I’m back on IG that some**** people are thrilled to use this situation to come up on their own. Use for their own benefit.”
Kathryn ended saying, “But I’m not gonna let that happen. Never have never will. I’m making a full statement tomorrow but I had to respond bc I cannot stand my character being annihilated. Please just be patient and know this shit is just not true.”
Monday came and went with no statement from Kathryn. It appears she has gone silent after promising to explain everything.
Instead, Kathryn posted a photo of her daughter Kensie, whom she shares with her baby daddy Thomas Ravenel. He is one of the few people who has supported her after she was accused of sending the racist message.
