In an Instagram post yesterday, Lil Nas shared pictures of him getting his first tattoo. The artist's face in the first picture was contorted as if in pain while a tattoo artist worked on his arm. The exaggerated reaction in the snapshot led to several jokes from his fans. Lil Nas captioned the post, "juh got my first tattoo."

The Grammy winner wore a lime green t-shirt under a mint green Dior puffer coat while getting his arm tattooed. Other pictures showed Lil Nas displaying the finished product on the inside of his wrist.

The tattoo was a custom design of the Aries symbol, featured in the "Montero" album art. Lil Nas also shared a video of his Thursday night performance in Barcelona at the Saint Jordi Club and a picture of him and Skaiwater sprawled on the city streets.

Months before his tattoo post, the artist revealed that he was simply too scared to get his skin inked, which several fans pointed out in his comment section. The Twitter post read, "the reason I don't have tattoos yet is nothing philosophical or deep I am simply just too p*ssy."

Lil Nas' followers seemed to find his facial reaction in the recent post humorous, and several others asked the artist what the tattooed symbol meant. "can't tell if you're yawning or if getting a tattoo hurts that bad," someone wrote. "It looks so good you have to tell us what it means," another fan commented.

Another comment read, "I have my entire arm done, and somehow you managed to pick what was the most painful spot for me to get done as the area to get yours."

In an October interview with People Magazine, Lil Nas talked about how he used his style to express himself and how he wanted to be perceived. He also revealed that he felt some insecurity right before making a stop at his hometown in Atlanta during his Long Live Montero Tour.

"I was really nervous about going out on stage in front of my family and everybody in my cute, little Coach skirt," Lil Nas said. "But as soon as I walked out, I felt like I was setting my younger self free. Afterward, my family — a lot of whom used to believe in everything opposite to what's up on that stage — told me they were really proud. I feel like I'm changing some minds."

Although it isn't certain what pushed the artist to get inked despite his previous reluctance, his Long Live Montero Tour comes to mind. Lil Nas just wrapped up the first two legs of his tour and may have gone to the tattoo parlor to celebrate the accomplishment.

The Long Live Montero Tour started on September 6 in the Detroit Fox Theater. During the first leg of the tour, which ended on October 23, the artist performed in locations around North America and wrapped up his act in San Francisco.

By the start of November, Lil Nas hit the road again but made several appearances in European countries. The "INDUSTRY BABY" artist performed in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Hamburg. He ended that part of the tour on Thursday in Barcelona.

The third leg of the Long Live Montero Tour will be in the Oceania region and begin on January 14 in Sydney.
