Farrah Abraham’s daughter Sophia, 11 is really trying hard to break into the music business. So hard that she may have accidently stolen a song that went viral a few months ago. Sophia’s song is titled “Take Yo Bestie” and it sounds an awful lot like Mahogany Lox single “Take Your Man”. Sophia’s song is basically saying that no one’s best friend is safe when she is around. This is similar to Lox’s telling listeners that if need be, she can snatch your man right up.
Fans noticed the similarities in the songs and wasted no time calling out Abraham and her daughter. The mom and daughter held a premiere for the video this week with an IG live party where Abraham shed a few proud tears for her daughter. “Oh my god! I do this every premiere!” said Abraham. “I’m such a mom, I love Sophia!” The song is Sophia’s second single and featured her best friend Charlie. A different best friend from Sophia’s first music video “Bestie Best Friend” which featured Chloe Fernandez.
The similarities in the song were allegedly realized weeks ago before the video was made, and many people reached out to Mahogany Lox to let her know. The singer supposedly hasn’t responded in any way. This must have angered a number of people who couldn’t wait to call out Abraham and her daughter during their IG live. Abraham supposedly let her IG live viewers know that this was a planned thing. Mahogany Lox allowed Sophia to make a parody of the song.
Fans who didn’t tune into the live flooded Abrahams’s Instagram posts with questions about how she could allow her daughter to steal someone else’s music. Fans are right to be concerned, Mahogany Lox is not just a regular musician, she is from a family that has been running the music scene for decades. Mahogany Lox is actually Mahogany Cheyenne Gordy yes, that Gordy. She is Berry Gordy Jr, the founder of Motown’s granddaughter. Her sibling is rapper and producer SkyBlu of LMFAO.
Abraham is known for doing things that garner her a lot of negative attention normally they have nothing to do with her daughter. However, this time she may have messed up. While she mentioned in the IG live that the song is meant to be a parody of the viral hit “Take Your Man”, she has not mentioned that anywhere else or in writing for the public so one has to wonder if what she is doing is A-Okay or should she gear up for a legal battle?
