“Can Elon buy Facebook and tank it next? I'd much rather see it die a slow death,” wrote one follower. “Excuse me @elonmusk, can you please buy Facebook? I really hate it,” chimed in another fan. “After Elon kills Twitter, he should buy Facebook next. 😆 I’ll pay to see Facebook eat the dust,” claims another.

He shared that one of the changes he will make is offering an $8 fee for a blue verified checkmark, he also turned the heart emoji from red to blue.

The $8 though is what ticked a lot of people off. They wondered how he could fathom charging for a service that has been free for so long.  Soon after the change, fake accounts were popping up everywhere pretending to be notable people and saying funny and sometimes horrible stuff.

Plus users of the app have been complaining that fake news is not being corralled on the site and it’s running rampant.

The hashtag on Twitter was accompanied by users gathering for a “homegoing” or what is more commonly called a funeral. “When is the services so I can wear my Twitter outfit😂😂😂😂😂,” joked one follower.

“I'm already emotional.... who doing the cooking 🤣🤣🤣,” asked one worried about the obligatory dinner after a homecoming.  Some folks pointed out that now that he owns the company he doesn’t want any lazy people working for him and if he has to “kill” the company to build it back up, maybe that’s best. Yikes.

One of Musk’s first changes was to tell Twitter employees to get back to the office. He isn’t down with the work from him. This sparked something in the users who are now pushing to “bury” the bird app.

“Buy facebook, so everyone can have a chance to speak freely. Keep up the good work Elon!”

“Sick to death of going into Facebook jail for literally NOTHING. @elonmusk please drop twitter and buy Facebook instead! It's desperate for your help!”
