Wendy Williams has controversy following an interview with CNN, insisting that she didn’t like the idea of seeing other TV stars ‘looking disgusting’ while filming from home.

During her chat with the publication, the famous talk show host admitted that she initially felt skeptical about the idea of filming “The Wendy Williams Show” from the comfort of her NYC apartment when the coronavirus pandemic emerged.

The 55-year-old wasn’t keen to continue with her show because she deemed her home to be sacred, adding that she also didn’t want to see her fellow TV personalities looking anything but appealing, adding: ‘I’m just saying.’

The likes of “The Real,” “The View,” and “The Talk” have all adjusted to at-home editions of their shows, but Williams wouldn’t elaborate on which celebrities, in particular, she wasn’t pleased to see filming from home.

The former radio host then went on to insist that she was a ‘natural’ when it came to situations such as the global pandemic the world is currently faced with.

‘I’ve got closets galore right?’ she quipped. ‘I pull out a robe and you know, sit in my chair and I've got my stuff around me and I'm a natural. It's like I am born to do exactly what I'm doing. So, this is not a stretch for me.’

Because of her lengthy experience as a radio presenter, where she’d entertain her fans for hours, Williams says it’s not hard to film her show without her studio audience, but she does note that she misses the ‘electricity’ that comes with having her co-hosts add their two cents on her hot topics.

Williams continued to explain that she’s only allowed one of her producers to assist her with the technical side of things when she’s taping for her talk show, and since she’s been isolating since March, anyone who comes in contact with her must keep a reasonable distance.

‘I have the same person come over every single day. He's on time. He flips the switches, he sits over there, away from me. We get it done.’

The past 12 months haven’t been easy for the opinionated star, who finalized her divorce with her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, in January, after having separated in April 2019.

Their split came about following reports Hunter was allegedly having a long-term affair with massage therapist Sharina Hudson, who has since welcomed a baby with William’s ex.

The devastating breakup was hard on Williams, who was living in a sober house at one point while still showing up for tapings of her daytime talk show. To say that things were chaotic in her life would be an understatement.

But as time has passed, Williams has managed to regain control of her life, and she’s even invited the idea of dating again.

‘You know I am 55 I don't want to be with someone who wants to be a rapper you know what I mean," she told SiriusXM last year.

‘You might see me on a date with a 32-year old please don't mistake that for anything other than we are on a date, what I need is the comfort of a man who's got his own and grown kids, I ain't changing pampers.’
