Highly-respected “friend of” Real Housewives of Atlanta cast Shamea Morton is expecting baby No.2!

Shamea Morton Had A Rough Pregnancy Journey

The local radio host was elated to announce the news on her Instagram that she is expecting after a rough round of trying. She also dropped the bombshell that they were using a surrogate. “We’re having a baby via surrogacy!” she posted.

“It’s been such a long journey! 7 rounds of IVF, failed transfers…etc. I wanted to carry but God had other plans. ?? He always knows best! I’m so grateful ?. I’m having a baby! ?.” She gushed.

She also shared an adorable photo of herself and her husband with a sign that read “Baby Mgwani due 2023” she scattered needles and pill bottles all around the sign. She laid in the grass with her husband with big, excited smiles on their faces.

Shamea Morton Is Standing Strong

The reality star didn’t give too much detail about her failed IVF treatment but she indicated that it was a long, tough go of it only for it to not work out in the end. But, let’s be honest, everything happens for a reason and this could be a blessing in disguise.

She and her husband, Gerald Mwangi, a local businessman and president of a mechanical contracting firm, share one daughter so far, Shya, 4. Morton has been appearing on RHOA for the past 8 seasons in a “friend of” role. She is good friends with Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss.

In passing, on the show, she has gushed about wanting more babies but never indicated if she was actively trying or just getting in her emotions when she sees her friends getting pregnant and their newborns.

The 40-year-old's comments are blowing up with messages of excitement, joy, and love for Morton and her family. Burruss was one of the first people to comment, “Congratulations!!!❤️❤️❤️ ❤️,” she wrote. Former RHOA co-star Cynthia bailey wrote, “congrats favorite couple!”

Other cast members that showed her love included Sheree Whitfield, Kenya Moore, and newcomer Monyetta Shaw who wrote, “Congratulations again hun!!! I’m so happy for you two.”

The Married To Medicine cast also chimed in! they film in Atlanta and know most of the cast personally. In some cases, some of the docs on M2M have delivered a few of the Atlanta housewives' babies.

Dr. Jackie Walters who helped Burruss with her pregnancy commented, “congratulations” and so did her co-star doctor’s wife Anila Sajja

Shamea Morton Is In Good Company

Surrogacy is a rewarding and popular practice in the United States and just like Morton, many other people are opting for it when they can’t carry their own children. Rebel Wilson just welcomed a child via surrogate.
