Tekashi 6ix9ine Breaks Records On YouTube And Instagram In Comeback

Tekashi 6ix9ine was lucky enough to be one of the few celebrities who was released from prison early due to risk of COVID-19. Upon the announcement of his release many fans were elated while critics were in disbelief.

If you recall, the rapper had been sentenced to two years in prison for crimes he carried out while he was a member of Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Controversially, 6ix9ine gave information on Anthony Ellison and Aljermiah Mack, who were members of the same set, in hopes of a sentence reduction.

The information provided did work in his favor, however, due to the negative press surrounding the "snitching," Tekashi 6ix9ine lost many of his famous supporters, including fellow New York native Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson whom called 6ix9ine "a son" at one point in the young artist's career.

During the time of 6ix9ine's release, a fan asked if Jackson had made contact with the former friend to which the "Candy Shop" rapper responded, "Nah, I ain’t heard from 6ix9ine. He’s his mother’s child now. He told on everybody."

Snoop Dogg has also taken to social media recently with criticism of the "Scumlife" rapper. As a personal friend and collaborator to many "hardcore" friends, including the notorious but lovable and wholesome Martha Stewart who went to prison after receiving federal charges for insider trading, Snoop Dogg has zero tolerance for people who cannot handle taking the rap for the dirt that they have done.

"As we watch Tekashi 69 (or whatever his name is) snitch on EVERYBODY, I invite you all to remember Martha Stewart snitched on NOT ONE soul during her trial,” Snoop wrote. “Baby girl kept it 10 toes down and ate that prison sentence by herself, like the true baddie she is.”

Regardless of the critics, it seems like Tekashi 6ix9ine's career is picking up exactly where it left off. His newly released single "GOOBA," along with its corresponding video just broke records on Youtube.

The video currently stands at 72 million views on YouTube. According to estimates, 43 million views were registered on the first day, the highest in YouTube history for a hip-hop song. The previous record was held by Eminem for his Machine Gun Kelly diss song, ‘Killshot’ in 2018, which only reached 38.1 million views in its first 24 hours.

Fortunately for the critics, "GOOBA" is nowhere near the top ten most-streamed videos on Youtube which only contains one rap song, "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifia and Charlie Puth. With 4.52 billion views and a tribute to the late Paul Walker, Tekashi 6ix9ine is nowhere near the song's level.

However, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s return to Instagram Live on Friday, May 8 also hit a record-breaking number for the most people tuned into the platform at the same time (2 million simultaneous views).
