It may be battle of the lifestyle brands between former model Chrissy Teigen and cookbook author Alison Roman. Both women are home cooks who have made a profit out of their hobby but Roman thinks that Teigen’s success comes off as a bit nauseating. During an interview with “New Consumer”, Roman was asked about the success of her brand and what is next for her. The home cook shared, “I’d rather stay small and always be myself,” she shares but she also feels the need to find out how to make money off of this

However, she adamantly mentions that she doesn’t want to get to the heights that Teigen has gone to. “It feels greedy,” said Roman in reference to just slapping her name on a product for the sake of making money. “There’s just too much stuff in the world. I want so much less stuff in my life, and I don’t want to contribute to that.” She references Teigen as one of the people who has a lo of “stuff”. “Like, what Chrissy Teigen has done is so crazy to me. She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target. Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her.”

The author goes on to share that she is confused by Teigen’s immense popularity. “That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that. But like, who’s laughing now? Because she’s making a ton of fucking money.” Unfortunately, Teigen got wind of the comments and had a response for Roman but it wasn’t the feisty clapback’s she is used to giving. “This is a huge bummer and hit me hard,” tweeted Teigen who has bragged about Roman and her recipes on her social media channels for some time now.

"I have made her recipes for years now, bought the cookbooks, supported her on social and praised her in interviews. I even signed on to executive produce the very show she talks about doing in this article.” Fans immediately felt bad for Teigen and went on the defense but Roman was unshakeable and quickly snapped back with a cheeky response. “When women bully other women for being honest about money and how much they do or do not make, well, that’s amore. Just wishing I had someone to hold my hand during baby's first internet backlash.” The “Nothing Fancy” author made sure to clarify that she is in no way coming for Teigen of her success she us just sharing how she chooses to carry on her career.

This situation is a bit of a contradiction seeing as Teigen just a few short weeks ago was being called out herself for online bullying. The former model and wannabe chef was exposed for bullying a then 16/17-year-old Courtney Stodden to the point of the young woman wanting to harm herself. But, of course, she is yet to acknowledge that these accusations exist even with all the evidence that Stodden shared with fans. Maybe Teigen should take the time to clarify that misunderstanding.
