Leslie Jordan's TV Legacy Continues With Surprise Cameo On 'Celebrity IOU'

Leslie Jordan’s legacy lives on.

The “Will & Grace” actor has made multiple television appearances following his untimely death last month.

Last week, he made an appearance as a panelist on “The Masked Singer” for “Hall of Fame” night.

Fast forward to this week, Leslie made a surprise came on “Celebrity IOU” on HGTV to mark the premiere of the newest season.

On the November 14th episode, Drew and Jonathan Scott opened the show with a tribute to Leslie.

“We've known Leslie Jordan for years and working with him on Celebrity IOU wasn't just a highlight for the show, but really of our careers,” Drew said.

Jonathan followed up his twin’s statement saying, “Yeah, just the most gracious and kind human being you'll ever meet. He was over the moon to give back to Rosemary and Newell who are in the episode you're about to watch. But he lived his entire life with the same love and gratitude for everyone he came in contact with.”

In the episode, Leslie was helping his friends, Rosemary and Newell Alexander, renovate their North Hollywood ranch house.

Drew concluded the intro, “Leslie, we will miss you very much.”

During the episode, Leslie explained his connection to the Alexanders.

“They've just always been there for me. I had some struggles with alcohol, a little drug use. I'm 25 years clean and sober, but they were instrumental in that too because they never judged me,” he said. “They were always so supportive.”

The renovation included a new kitchen, updated fireplace and additional space for entertaining.

Leslie’s friends were over the moon happy with his and the Property Brother’s work.

“I didn't think this was possible. That I would love it so much,” Rosemary said.

“And that's all she wrote," Leslie noted as the episode came to an end.

The episode concluded with an in memoriam that read “Leslie Jordan 1955-2022.”

The Blast reported on Leslie’s unexpected death. He passed away on October 24th after suffering a “medical emergency” behind the wheel of his car.

It’s thought that he had a heart attack, but his cause of death was deferred by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Leslie was driving in Hollywood Monday morning when he crashed into the side of a building.

His “Will & Grace” co-star, Sean Hayes, shared a touching tribute on Instagram.

“My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart. Leslie, you will be missed, my dear friend. ?❤️,” he wrote alongside a photo of them on the set of the sitcom.

Leslie rose to massive popularity on social media during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic.

He made countless videos just being his silly, goofy and honest self. Leslie said his secret to creating such great content was being himself.

In addition to “Will & Grace,” Leslie is known for his roles in “Hearts Afire,” “The Cool Kids,” ”American Horror Story” and “Call me Kat.”

Leslie shared a video of himself singing a hymn to Instagram on Sunday, October 23rd.

He captioned the video, “Sunday Mornin’ Hymn Singin’ with @dannymyrick. Danny helped me with a new original song that should be comin’ out real soon. Love. Light. Leslie.”

As you can see from the caption, Leslie was living a happy, positive and beautiful life.
