Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have come full circle from friends to lovers to rivals and back to friends. Their relationship woes have spanned over three decades and with new rumors of the couple's reconciliation, fans are beginning to wonder if they really are meant to be.

After meeting and dating it took them over five years before calling it official, but they quickly became one of Hollywood's biggest "super couples." For five years, Pitt and Aniston appeared in each other's movies and TV shows and they seemed like an unstoppable force.

However, in 2004 rumors began to fly about a cheating scandal between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie after the two starred in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" together. Just a year later, he and Aniston had an epically public divorce, and the "Friends" star cast Brad in the darkest of lights.

"Brad is not mean-spirited; he would never intentionally try to rub something in my face," she says. "In hindsight, I can see him going, 'Oh—I can see that that was inconsiderate.' But I know Brad. Brad would say, 'That’s art!' There’s a sensitivity chip that’s missing."

Even with the strong words, both Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston moved on and had somewhat successful second marriages. That was until Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, after the two had six children together, three of whom were adopted internationally. Aniston was not much better off after marrying and divorcing "Bumblebee" star Justin Theroux.

As tragic as it may seem the shared relationship troubles gave Pitt and Aniston the ability to build a lasting friendship, though Aniston has said that the process was not easy.

But after building such as a strong friend, the two almost seem like a couple again. Recently a source told Us Weekly that, "They dig each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that."

Aside from Brad Pitt, Aniston has formed a close relationship with the Jolie-Pitt children; specifically his third youngest, daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who was casted in one of Aniston's recent projects.

Despite previous reports that have said Angelina Jolie stopped her children from meeting Jennifer Aniston, it seems like the 'Along Came Polly' actress and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt are the best of friends. According to new sources, the thirteen-year-old has expressed a wish to call Aniston 'mummy' after forming a close relationship.

"They’ve been spending so much time together and been bonding, it felt like a natural next step for Shiloh," the source revealed to Mirror. As fairytale as it all may seem Pitt, Jolie, nor Aniston has come forth with a response.
