In an earlier interview with The Telegraph, Tomlinson shed some light on his music and revealed that after disbanding, it took him some time to discover his niche. "I can imagine some of these songs being on albums by bands I would have listened to as a kid," the artist said.

"It took me a second to find my feet after One Direction and realize I need to be brave enough to embrace what I love." Tomlinson further revealed that although the rest of One Direction had had a lot on their plates, he hoped for a reunion in the future.

"When you look at it on paper, it's like, 'How the f--k's it all gonna fit back together?' We're all making very different music, doing our own thing, all busy all the time," the artist said. "So I don't see anything happening for at least another 10 years, but you never know. It looks pretty jumbled. But I think there is a world where it all kind of fits together."

During his Telegraph interview, Tomlinson revealed how he felt regarding Styles' immediate shot to stardom after the band split in 2016. "I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me at first," he said. "Only 'cos I didn't know where to place myself, and really my only point of reference was other members of the band."

Tomlinson continued, "But it's not surprising to me that Harry's the most commercially successful because he really fits the mold of a modern star." He added that Styles wasn't just focused on music and had a thriving career in the film industry.

"He's got film as well, and the tour he's done is unbelievable," the artist said. "It took me a while to work out where I stand. But I look on Harry like a brother, man. I have a lot of pride for what he's doing."

In October, Tomlinson revealed that when One Direction decided to go on a break, he thought it would only last a few years. In an interview with Metrothe artist touched on the comments and explained what he meant by them exactly. "It's not that anyone kind of made me feel that it was going to be back in a year or two years," he admitted.

"I think that was me just putting my wall of security up and going, well, hopefully, it'll be a year or two's time because I wasn't ready for that. I wasn't ready for the break," Tomlinson added. He revealed that after the hiatus was decided on, he felt a "bit angry" but was now glad concerning how things turned out.

The artist explained, "I will say now, hindsight is a powerful thing. I really do enjoy having the ability to express myself musically, and sometimes that's challenging in a band – especially now that I really feel like I'm finding my feet musically."
