The actress looks striking on the cover of Vanity Fair for December and has a funny story about almost missing the interview portion of the cover shoot. The VF interview opens with the reporter, Rebeca Ford telling a funny little anecdote about the actress.

“A security guard stops us with an ‘Excuse me, where are you heading?’” remembers the reporter. We try saying “that way” and walk like we own the place. The guard isn’t buying it. He asks what production we’re with. This is where I expect my tour guide to say, “I’m Margot Robbie.” Instead, she mumbles something about being with Babylon and “doing some post.”

The mumbles get her nowhere. “The security guard clearly doesn’t recognize that standing in front of him is the Australian actor who brought Harley Quinn to life and was nominated for an Oscar for playing Tonya Harding,” noted the reporter who admits she was shocked.

Margot Robbie Is So Shy

Ford denotes that Robbie was so shy “her voice trails off.” This leads security to try and kick the star of the film off the set. “He tells us we have to get off the set because somebody’s shooting.” This is where Robbie’s charisma shines.

“Robbie politely agrees,” says Ford. “She laughs as we round the corner. ‘I should have a better cover story,’ noting that Robbie joked about her lack of recognition. “You’d think I’d be better at that.”

The actress's interview featured several other fun tidbits about Robbie and her career. She even clarified what was going on in that viral photo of herself leaving Car Delevingne’s home in tears.

The Babylon actress made it clear that the whole story was untrue. First up; that wasn’t Delevingne's home. “I’m not at Cara’s house—I’m outside an Airbnb that I was renting for five days!” she insisted, and second, “I’m not crying!”

She went on to say lieu of crying, “I had something in my eye. I’m trying to grab my face mask, trying to hold a coffee cup, and I couldn’t get a hair outta my eye.”

The confession comes after months of speculation that Robbie was extremely scared for the model and was seen crying uncontrollably after leaving her place. Now we know that it wasn’t even the model’s home and Robbie wasn’t crying at all. She shared that tabloids in her opinion are messy and untruthful.

Margot Robbie Doesn’t Trust The Paps

The Wolf of Wallstreet actress admits that she doesn’t love the paparazzi. She feels as though they lied to her. She shares that before she was famous she assumed the paps were writing true stories because, why would they lie?

However, after being told she is pregnant more times than she can count she realizes that is not the truth. She then tried to debunk false stories but admitted that was to exhausting. “You want to correct it, but you just can’t. You have to, I don’t know, look the other way.”

Interviews are a bit different while she still has a hard time with those she finds that it’s a different level of exhaustion.

“They only want sound bites and I don’t resent them for it, I get it—they’ve got three minutes. But it’s like tap dancing through a minefield,” she stresses.  “You’re so tired and you’ve done it for hours and hours, and to keep on guard all the time…. You can say it right a thousand times, but you say it wrong once, you’re f****d.”
