This week on “Vanderpump Rules” Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark got engaged… in a cemetery of all places. Clark wanted to make sure everything was perfect but one decision that had him going back and forth was whether or not he should invite Kristen Doute. Clark didn’t want to risk looking back and regretting a spur of the moment decision to exclude her. Unfortunately, they decided against inviting her and now Clark is admitting that he regrets that decision and if he could change it he would.
Fans of the show are as aware as they can be about the beef between Schroeder, Doute and Katie Maloney. The friendship has been on the rocks for almost a year now. However, Clark felt it was important to have Doute at the engagement party. He didn’t want his new fiancé to look back and regret not having her there because of a silly rough patch in the friendship. He ultimately decided not to invite Doute much to the shock of Lisa Vanderpump who held the party at her Villa Rosa estate. Vanderpump is not a huge fan of Doute but even she felt that she had a right to be there.
During an interview on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules After Show”, Schroder and Clark dished on their thoughts on the episode and the awkward relationship between Doute’s ex-boyfriend Brian Carter and the rest the cast. The couple also discussed Doute’s absence from the couple engagement party. Clark admits that is was not a decision that he has come to terms with yet. “It’s a bummer, you know? For me, I really do wish that Kristen was there. And I do have this thought process [that] five years down the road, we’re all gonna look back at this and go ‘That was so f*cking stupid.’” Schroeder, of course, did not feel the same. “I disagree,” said Schroeder intently.
Why is Schroeder so sure that she won’t regret this decision? She can’t stand Carter. He is one of the main reasons why Doute and her girls are on the outs. They believe that she allows Carter to walk all over her and they are sick of watching it happen and then having to listen to her complain about it. They also believe that Doute is not honest about how much money she spends on Carter furthermore, how much he contributed to the bills in the apartment they were sharing. Sounds petty, right? It is.
Fans felt that Doute should have been an automatic guest seeing as she was responsible for setting the couple up. Carter felt the same and fired off an awkward text to Clark shortly after the couple let their friends know they got engaged. “Don’t forget to thank Kristen for hooking you guys up,” Carter wrote in the confrontational text. “She made it happen and now you and Stassi treat her like sht. That’s some cold-blooded sht right there.” He’s isn’t all the way wrong though.
