“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice reappeared on social media hours after her estranged husband Joe lost his deportation appeal.
Teresa shared a throwback family photo with her brother Joe Gorga, mother and father Giacinto Gorga, who passed away at the age of 76 earlier this month.
The reality star is still mourning the loss and captioned the post, “Love this photo ❤️?? @joeygorga.” Teresa has yet to comment on Joe’s massive loss in court today.
As The Blast first reported, The United States Court of Appeal For the Third Circuit denied Joe’s appeal on April 29.
Joe has been fighting his deportation to Italy for years. The whole mess started after the reality star was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to 41 months in prison. As part of his sentence, the court ordered him to be removed from the United States after his prison term. He appealed the decision to remove him but was allowed to move to Italy as he awaited the final decision.
The appellate court order read, “This cause came to be considered on a petition for review from the Board of Immigration Appeals and was submitted on November 21, 2019. On consideration whereof, it is now hereby ORDERED and ADJUDGED by this Court that the petition for review of the decision of the Board of Immigration Appeals entered on April 11, 2019, is DENIED. All of the above in accordance with the opinion of this Court.”
At one point during the court battle, Joe’s 18-year-old daughter Gia launched a petition asking President Donald J. Trump to help her family out.
Following the appeal being denied Joe’s lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr. spoke to Page Six. He says he plans to take the case to the Supreme Court.
He said, “We have always maintained that Joe Giudice belongs in the United States with his family, not in Italy. The immigration laws in our country are both draconian and antiquated and need to be revisited by forward-thinking members of Congress.”
