Penn Badgley joined TikTok and people are excited about it!
The actor's first video on the platform had fans of his hit Netflix show super excited about his new account and the upcoming season of "You." In his viral debut video, we see Badgley meeting his "You" character Joe Goldberg. He appropriately used Taylor Swift's song "Anti-Hero" in the video, as we see Badgley running through the apartment to answer the door and when he opens the door, he's there dressed as Goldberg. "It's me," Badgley lip syncs as Goldberg. Badgley, as himself, then lip syncs back, "Hi" before Goldberg mouths, "I'm the problem, it's me."
Penn Badgley's TikTok Followers Are Excited He's There!
To say his followers loved his debut on TikTok would be an understatement. The video received 5.6 million views and got more than 13,000 comments. Many famous celebs and accounts dropped into the comment section to leave their thoughts.
Netflix popped into the comments to say, "not the hat," to which Badgley hilariously responded, "Listen dahmer." Taylor Swift left a comment for Badgley too saying, "OMG!!!! 🤩" Target jumped into the convo saying, "joe stay away from Taylor’s house." TikTok added, "it’s YOU." Even the Empire State Building had something to say, "This is what I needed to see today."
Other comments included, "Me realizing this is Penn Badgley’s first TikTok. Dude knows how to enter a room," "The fact it's his first TikTok makes it more iconic," "How is it that he’s knew to tik tok and he just made the perfect tik tok with the perfect sound. Hahaha 😅," "This video wins the internet every day for the rest of forever," and many others.
Penn Badgley Quickly Reached Millions With His TikTok Videos
Since posting his first video, Badgley has shared four more videos. One of his videos is a duet with TikTok famous Elyse Myers dancing to Meghan Trainor's song, "Made You Look." The video got 26.7 million views and more than 34,000 comments. Trainor hopped into the comment section to say, "Y’ALL ARE ALWAYS INVITEDDD IM DEEEAAADDDD WHATS HAPPENINGGGG." Myers wrote, "Penn you absolutely nailed this 😂" and Badgley responded, "No lie I learned it mirrored and then watched yours again and had to reverse it which is surprisingly very hard."
If Penn Badgley And Joe Goldberg Met In Real Life, Badgley Would Do This...
The 36-year-old actor recently explained what he would do if he met Goldberg in real life on the Stitcher podcast "Podcrushed." "So, let's say he was a person I was obsessed with and, somehow, I could meet him in a controlled circumstance and he was interested in listening to me," he said. "And, by the way, it would be in my tone. The question is simple, but it would be in my tone."
He went on to explain that Goldberg just needs some love. "I really, at this point, and I think I've been clear about how much I detest all of his deeds, so, in that context, I would actually try to love him. Because, the truth is, he's never gotten that," he explained. "Because of my relationship to him, I would try to love him. I'm not saying he deserves that. I'm not saying anybody else should do that. I'm saying I would try to love him. He needs that. He needs love. It's like, I would hug him...I would hold him."
Season 4 of "You" Will Be Different Than Previous Seasons
While discussing the upcoming season of the hit show, Badgley explains that things are different this time around. "I'm not the lovable bookstore manager in New York, or the shop clerk in L.A., or the doting husband in the suburbs. No. Not anymore," he said. "Allow me to introduce myself. I've gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the Pond, and living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will."
The first three seasons of "You" can currently be viewed on Netflix. Part 1 of season 4 will be released on February 10 and part 2 on March 10.
