The pandemic has hit the pop world astronomically. One of its key players, Lady Gaga, arguably took the biggest hit of all.

First, she had to ax the remainder of her Las Vegas residency shows, quickly followed by the delaying of her 'Chromatica' album release. Gaga also revealed she had a secret Coachella set lined up for this year (which obviously didn't happen) - and (somewhat) finally, the 'Chromatica' tour had to be shelved indefinitely as well. Did we mention she also had a birthday in there, too?

The 34-year-old turned - well, 34 - on March 28th and received a sweet~~ener~~ social media message from fellow GRAMMY winner Ariana Grande.

“Happy birthday to a literal angel that has changed my life in many ways!” Grande wrote at the time. “I’ll tell you more about it later but… You make my heart feel so full and happy and understood. Wishing you all the joy in the world today and every day! Have some pasta.”

Grande's well wishes were sent via Instagram - but she deleted the entire post soon after.

It's possible the selfie Grande linked to her Gaga-birthday-greeting showing both pop stars in a recording studio was just a little more than Gaga was ready to reveal last month.

The post did get over 1 million likes before it was removed, but sadly, its deletion means we can't dig up any of the epic meltdowns that occurred in the comments. MTV did say they'd "like to declare a pop emergency," which we felt was very necessary.

Vogue UK caught wind of the situation early on, simply headlining that "Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande Are Up To Something."

The pop emergency was officially upgraded to a pop pandemic earlier this week when the Grande/Gaga collab was officially confirmed. Unfortunately, it was kind of forced to be confirmed after Target accidentally uploaded the album to their web store...including the back cover...which includes the tracklist.

The Twitterverse took no time to collect their thoughts after Gaga's confirmation. In fact, an even bigger rumor came to life as a result of the chaos.

Allegedly - according to @ThePopHub - "Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande will release their anticipated collaboration 'Rain On Me' next month alongside the track's music video."

The Pop Hub sits at just over 81,000 followers, including some solid mutuals that have proven themselves to be pretty credible in the past (like the respective stan accounts for Princess Anna and Princess Elsa). The social outlet added that their supposed 'scoop' comes from "a reliable insider who has leaked previous Gaga release dates."

One response simply said "the Italians are coming to dominate."

Another added that Gaga and Grande are "COMING TO SAVE 2020."

Which is likely true. But, we'd have to say we agree more with the guy who said they're just "coming to save the music industry" - influenced in whole by his attached Peppa Pig highlight reel going off to the soundtrack of 'Savage.'
