Rihanna Speaks On Motherhood Experience: 'Wild, Trippy As Hell'

Fenty Beauty founder Rihanna has discussed her new status as a mother after welcoming a son with her partner A$AP Rocky earlier in the year.

The "Umbrella" crooner, who is slated to headline next year's Super Bowl, shared on the red carpet of her "Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 4" lingerie show that her experience as a mother can be compared to "tripping on acid every day."

She also disclosed that the birth of the child has strengthened her relationship with her partner, saying they have an "amazing friendship." Rihanna also refuted speculations that she plans on dropping her tenth album soon.

Speaking at the premiere of her "Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 4" lingerie show, Rihanna opened up about her experience as a mother.

The billionaire songstress gave birth to a son in May, whom she shares with her partner A$AP Rocky. She likened her new status to being a "trippy" experience that she wasn't exactly prepared for.

"Life starts over when you become a parent. It's life that you've never known before," she told Access Hollywood at the show. "The beginning is like you're tripping acid every day. It's wild, trippy as hell."

For the Fenty founder, being a mother involves a lot of learning as her child tries to adapt to life in a new world.

Rihanna continued, "You look at him, and he's yours, but he's a stranger, and you're learning him as he's learning you and learning the world. When he looks at me in my eyes, my whole soul … I can't tell if it's cold or hot."

Reflecting on how being parents has impacted her relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky, the Barbadian singer shared that it has only become stronger.

She said, "It's amazing to have a friendship be the center of our entire family, I really love it."

Since the birth of her son, she has continued to keep his name under wraps despite growing interest from fans. The singer, who flaunted her baby bump for most of the pregnancy, has also not debuted any images of the child on her social media platforms.

However, she did describe the child in a recent interview with People magazine. "He is funny, he's happy — and he's fat!" she told the publication. "He's amazing. It's a real cuddly stage right now."

As for her upcoming performance as the lead musician for 2023's Super Bowl halftime show, the singer revealed that taking on the gig was a "now or never" deal for her.

Rihanna's last major body of work was in 2016 when she released her ninth studio album, "Anti." Since then, she has kept fans in the dark about when her next album will debut.
