Eminem, who officially goes by the name Marshall Mathers, is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time and has recently been given his well-deserved accolades.
The “Venom” rapper, in one of the most fulfilling moments of his successful career, got inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame during a long, star-filled ceremony at the Microsoft Theater. Eminem became the 20th Detroit inductee in the institution’s 36-year history.
Interestingly, his mother, Debbie Mathers, who had a rocky relationship with the rapper over the years, congratulated her son via a short clip posted on social media.
Debbie Mathers Congratulated Eminem On his Latest Milestone
Despite all the rumors that made rounds on social media in the past that the 67-year-old had passed on from breast cancer, Mathers finally debunked such baseless rumors in her recent video.
A fan account on Twitter dedicated to tweeting about Eminem posted a video on the bird app, showing the rapper’s mum commending the “Without Me” crooner for his ground-breaking achievement.
The anonymous individual accompanied the video with a caption, writing, “Debbie, Eminem’s mom, is very much alive and extremely proud of her son’s induction to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.”
The video itself revealed Mathers seated on a couch in her living room. She donned a purple “Shady Records” t-shirt and ripped jeans and had her blonde hair fall loosely to her shoulders.
She began by saying, “Marshall, I want to say I could not let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame. I love you very much. I knew you’d get there. It’s been a long ride. I’m very, very proud of you.”
Mathers, in addition, used the opportunity to recognize her granddaughter, Hailie Jade, praising her on her recent career moves. She said, “And also, I’m very proud of Hailie Jade, my big girl. I want to tell you Hailie, great job on your podcast, and God bless you guys. I love you very much.”

The “Lose Yourself” rapper, after getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, gave a tear-jerking speech as he reflected on his early struggles, especially his 2007 overdose.
His daughter, Hailie, whom he shares a close bond with, was present for the ceremony to support her dad at his star-studded induction.
The socialite, while listening to the “Superman” crooner talk about how he almost died from an overdose, gave a funny reaction as she watched her dad pour out his heart on stage. A cameraman, who caught the young artist playfully making her dramatic reaction, had it displayed on the big screen, which amused the Hall of Fame audience.
Per Geo News, Eminem, before going deep into his speech, had an instruction, which he jokingly laid down for his daughter.
He said, “Hailie, plug your ears: because drugs were f — ing delicious, and I thought we had a good thing going man, but I had to go and f — it all up and take too many. God d – n. [Sic] OK Hailie”.
The “Mockingbird” rapper moving on in his speech, showed his gratitude to a couple of other rappers for motivating him. He mentioned big names in the industry, such as Dr. Dre, The Notorious BIG, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and several other talented rappers.
He further added, “I realize what an honor it is right now to be up here tonight and what a privilege it is to do the music that I love.”
Eminem And His Mom Previously Had A Turbulent Relationship
Despite Debbie's new outpouring of love for her son, the mother-and-son duo’s relationship over the years hasn't been the best. Their unusual dynamic partly shaped the rapper’s determination to pursue music and excel at it.
Per reports, the pair did not see eye to eye following Eminem’s accusation that she abused drugs and alcohol when he was still living with her in his younger days.
The 67-year-old birthed the “Godzilla” rapper when she was just 18 years of age, and the rapper’s father abandoned him after he was born. The pair had to move around from Kansas City to Detroit due to financial difficulties.
However, when Eminem finally made it big in the music industry, he accused Mathers of doing drugs in his 1999 track, “My Name Is.”
Mathers, who wasn’t pleased by her son’s act, went ahead to sue him later that year in a $10 million defamation lawsuit, claiming he slandered her on “The Slim Shady LP.”
