For Halle Berry, Pierce Brosnan Pulled Off 'Die Another Day' For Real

Pierce Brosnan aka James Bond and Halle Berry aka Jinx Johnson shared a very 'Die Another Day' moment in reality. Let us explain: 'Die Another Day' was the twentieth James Bond movie, starring Pierce Brosnan as 007 and Halle Berry as NSA Agent Jinx Johnson. In case memories need to be jogged, may we mention the white bikini-clad Berry emerging from the waves like a nymph? During the filming, Pierce Brosnan swung into 007-mode very naturally and saved Berry's life, for real.

Halle Berry came on 'The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' and recalled how it all went down in the video below. The movie shows Jinx in bed, cutting a fig with a sharp knife and eating it seductively in a bid to entrap Bond. What threw a spanner in the sexiness is that as Berry chewed the fruit, it went down wrong and lodged in her throat, choking her and threatening her life. A fairly normal thing to happen, but choking on food can still be a life-threatening situation if not handled quickly.

Luckily, the very suave Pierce Brosnan caught on what was happening superquick and saved Berry's life by performing the Heimlich maneuver. Berry remembers that it was the most unsexy moment of her life but she remains forever grateful to Brosnan for doing what he did and letting that sweet oxygen seep back into her lungs. She said, "He was there for me; he will always be one of my favorite people in the world", and that's some well-deserved gratitude indeed.

In another shot for 'Die Another Day', Berry even got a fragment of a smoke bomb lodged in her eye and had to be carted off to the hospital to have it removed. But this isn't the only movie Berry got injured filming. She plays Sophie in 'John Wick 3: Parabellum' and in a bid to keep up with Keanu Reeves' physical prowess, ended up cracking three ribs. Then there is her upcoming movie 'Bruised', produced by Golden Globe Awardee, Brad Pitt, where she is seen fighting with UFC women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko.

So Halle Berry keeps getting knocked around for her movies, but such is her passion for her art that she bounces right up. Of course, she is a major fitness freak, as is obvious from her Instagram posts, especially the ones with the #fitnessfriday hashtag. 'Bruised' will see her don the director's mantle. Meanwhile, the last Daniel Craig James Bond movie was supposed to be out in April 2020 but with the Coronavirus pandemic, it has been moved to the end of this year. Wonder who the next James Bond will be?
