Dr. Luke Blasted As A 'Predator' On Twitter After Moving Forward With $40M Lawsuit Against Kesha

Music producer Dr. Luke is moving forward with his defamation lawsuit against Kesha and fans are not impressed with the alleged “predator”.

The producer is suing the singer for defamation claiming that she made allegations against him that are damning in an attempt to “get a better contract”. The trial date has been set for the summer of 2023, July to be exact.

In 2014, the singer went to rehab for bulimia and worked on her mental health leading her to reveal that Dr. Luke had assaulted her on numerous occasions.  Specifically, in her court filing, she accused him of, sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, emotional abuse, and violation of business practices in California.

The two worked together for over a decade so obviously, there are a few hurt feelings involved. However, Kesha has a very supportive fan base and they have taken to Twitter to blast the producer for how he treated Kesha and how he continues to treat her.

The “Don’t Stop” singer’s fanbase, whom she lovingly calls her animals are shocked that Dr. Luck is still attempting to sue the singer, they are also shocked at the astronomical amount, and finally, they are disgusted to find out the singer is still under contract with her accuse abuser.

“This is the new normal,” insisted the Twitter user. “Abusers dragging their victims through the court system in furtherance of their abuse. While a baying crowd of shameless idiots cheer them on and consume it as entertainment. #FreeKesha.”

Another fan of the singer has already condemned the producer. “You know he’s an abuser because 10 years later he still hasn’t released her from her recording contract #freekesha.”

Others are reminding anyone who will listen that Dr. Luke is not a victim.

“Dr. Luke wasn’t defamed he has been the #1 producer for the pass 5 years and is still making top hits with people who once stood by Kesha or called her liar. Kesha has been fighting for her freedom for about 8 years to the point where she can become bankrupt. #FreeKesha.”

The singer was so appalled by her horrible contract and the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of Dr. Luke that she was forced to shelve future music and unable to perform the songs she wanted.

The singer took to social media at one point to claim that her contract release was in negotiation as long as she took back her allegations of sexual assault against Dr. Luke and apologized for lying, something she obviously declined.

By 2016, the singer's sexual assault allegations were thrown out by the judge on the case, Justice Shirley Kornreich who also ruled against Kesha being released from her contract as she saw nothing wrong with it and referred to it as a contract that was standard and according to Dr. Luke’s lawyers, heavily negotiated.

Seeing as the singer’s own assault accusations against Dr. Luke have been thrown out why is he suing her for defamation? Well, the singer sent a text to Lady Gaga back in 2016 telling the “Bad Romance” singer that Dr. Luke sexually assaulted her.

She also claimed that he sexually assaulted other artists and went on to name a few like Katy Perry. The judge ordered that LG hand over the unredacted text as proof and deposed Perry who claimed she was never assaulted by Dr. Luke and never told Kesha that either.

Artists have chosen to make their own decision about Dr. Luke including Doja Cat who continues to work with him but has never publicly defended him.

Meanwhile, Kesha is still releasing music under Kemosabe records, owned by Dr. Luke. This could be a contractually obligated situation and she is just trying to ride it out.
