The singer and actress spoke about her mental health struggles and how proud she is of the person she has become. She is on her journey to healing after quitting alcohol and changing her way of thinking.

This comes after Simpson recently posted some photos that sparked rumors about her look and general appearance. While some fans supported her, others reacted negatively and criticized the actress. Following this, she wrote a message to them revealing that she didn't care about their "hate."

Simpson then noted how much "compassion" she felt for the critics and wondered why they said such hurtful things to people on the internet. The "Private Valentine" actress also revealed what keeps her "stable" and advised fans to ignore the haters and follow their dreams.

The Negative Criticism Hurt Jessica Simpson

The "Employee of the Month" star posted a video singing her 2020 single "Party Of One" on Instagram on November 6th. She then attached an inspiring caption to address the critics. Simpson first explained that she "needed to be in her studio" that day because music usually helped her "ground herself" and "heal."

Simpson then revealed that she recently had to block out the negative comments and "destructive noise" because of her mental health. While she chose to ignore them, they still hurt her a lot and triggered her insecurity. She said, "Peoples' comments and judgements can still hurt deeply with their incessant nagging 'you will never be good enough.'"

While Simpson still battles the insecurity, she shared that she's proud of how far she has come and how much she has learned from the past.

Simpson noted how proud she was of her progress. The star, who has been sober since 2017, revealed what the past five years taught her. She said per Prevention, "The most important thing I have learned through the last 5yrs without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it."

She then revealed that she could do anything she wanted with a little positivity and dedication. As a motto, the singer believes that she is "capable of pretty much anything she cares enough about to put her mind to."

The "Pretty Princess" star also praised herself for having all the qualities she needed to succeed and highlighted a few. "I am present. I am deeply inspired," she noted, "I am determined. I am honest. I care about other people."

She Feels Bad For Her Critics

After boasting about her abilities, the "Irresistible" singer left a message for her critics. She noted that she felt bad for how much they carried with them since they could easily "blurt out" hurtful things to strangers on social media.

"I feel compassion for the opinionated hate that some people can so effortlessly just blurt out with such intensity on social media or in the media in general," she wrote. Implying that they projected their own feelings of insecurity, she continued, "We all have our days of wanting to be, look, do, and feel better. Nobody is alone with that feelin' that I can promise you."

The star, who is on a journey to self-healing, also revealed that she figured out the best way to feel better about herself. She also advised fans to block out the negative energy as she did.

The "Take My Breath Away" singer recalled waking up "anxious and insecure" while dealing with mental health issues. Since then, one thing that kept her "stable and strong" was singing. She explained, "I know what works for me and that is to let go and simply sing while lookin directly inside the mirror, straight in my eyes."

Simpson revealed that it helped her to understand herself and "connect with her heartbeat." She concluded by advising fans to focus on their dreams and "move through them." She also encouraged them to remain positive even if people criticized their process. "Stay true to YOU," she said, explaining that this got her very far in the industry.
