She might have a new life on the way, but Katy Perry has said goodbye to two others in recent weeks.
The pop star, 35, recently announced the death of her paternal grandmother, Ann Pearl Hudson. Although Hudson's life was full of years - 99 of them, to be exact - her passing was heavily mourned by Perry's devoted fanbase. The "KatyCats" drew an instant connection to the Vegas-based Hudson after her appearance in the 2012 'Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D' movie.
In the film, Hudson said her granddaughter had always been "a show-off."

"I remember one time I went to babysit," Hudson recalled, "I had to keep them a weekend. And it was awful."
Perry posted a collection of pictures the day after Hudson's March 8th passing.
"I don’t know when a soul enters a new vehicle," Perry wrote, "but if there is an afterlife where there’s a waiting room of the coming and going my mind wonders if the soul that is waiting to come into my world is getting a kiss on the forehead from my sweet Grandma that departed this earth yesterday. My heart hopes so."

"Ann Pearl Hudson was a fighter," the singer added. "She survived the Great Depression, raised 3 kids on her own as a seamstress, making G strings for showgirls and other such characters in Vegas."
Perry's post-life ponderings also proposed her "grandma probably had a glass of her favorite blush wine ready upon arrival to this afterlife...and a most fashionable look, jewels included, naturally."
Fans are still pouring out their condolences six weeks later - but, find themselves thankful Perry was able to share news of her pregnancy with Hudson just days before her death.
As of Friday night, though, a new set of sympathies are needed.

"Kitty Purry crawled through my then-boyfriend’s window 15 years ago, fully pregnant and seeking shelter," the songstress shared on social media. "Two litters and many moons later, this street cat became a lovable mascot to many. Sadly, Kitty completed her 9th life last night."
The April 18th post racked in over 1.5 million likes in less than 24 hours.
"I hope she rests in salmon fillets and tuna tartare way up in catnip heaven. Kitty, thanks for the cuddles and companionship along the way."

Hollywood's favorite momager Kris Jenner was one of the first to offer her thoughts with a series of sad emojis ("????") via Instagram. But, fashion designer Jeremy Scott (Moschino) assured Perry that "LEGENDS NEVER DIE."
Other famous friends flooded the comments to grieve Kitty Purry, remembering the "major feline icon" and hoping "she is rolling in cat nip at the rainbow bridge" - "a legend who will FUR sure live on in us all."
RIP, Kitty Purry!!!
