Robert Irwin, the son of Steve and Terri Irwin, walked his sister down the aisle at her wedding. “Walking my sister down the aisle was one of the most special moments of my life, Bindi, you are the most amazing sister and friend, always there for me through it all and I just couldn’t be happier you found Chandler. And Chandler, I am so happy to now welcome you into our family as my brother. March 25 was a truly beautiful day!”

Robert was born on December 1, 2003. He and his sister were homeschooled, where you might ask? The Australia Zoo, of course! There's no better place for them. Robert appeared on television with his father in January 2, 2004, as Steve carried him while feeding a 12.5-foot long crocodile. Steve later died when Robert was three years old, after gaining a stingray injury during the filming of an underwater documentary.

Robert is a photographer! He spends a ton of time at the Australia Zoo, of course, but he specializes in nature photography.

He even has a website. His site features amazing images of nature and animals, landscapes and more. In fact, the first thing you see when you open his site, is a photo of a tiger.

He was recognized for photography before he was a teenager, and he made headlines at 13 years old, to highlight his talents. In 2018, he was at a photo competition and was recognized for his photo of a spider devouring a frog.

His image was submitted in the 11-14 category, and he wrote, at the time: “Thrilled that my photo will be part of a gallery going worldwide to hopefully inspire other young people to take up photography and appreciate the natural world.”

Robert has, of course, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as other late-night television shows. He typically brings a ton of animals with him and introduces them to the audience and the host.

Appearing with Jimmy Fallon more than once, he's repeatedly scared the man with various animals, and the show's even compiled a video of jump-scares (where Fallon falls out of his chair).

Of course, Irwin and the handlers keep a close eye on the animals, but it's just so amusing, seeing Fallon hit the floor.

Robert also helped Powell plan the proposal! “So, I stood in for Bindi and marked out where he was going to propose, Bindi hasn’t even seen this photo, but I’ve got it with me. It was the happiest moment of my life.”

He also photographed the actual engagement and the photo session that ensued after. This means Powell had the entire family's approval from the get-go, and that's exciting to hear.

The younger generation of Irwins, like their parents, have dedicated their lives to animals and nature. Bindi and Robert spend most of their time at work; but why wouldn't you, when you work at an amazing zoo?

Since social distancing began, Robert has shared photos with "isolation buddies", or animals that he is taking care of. “More of my Australia Zoo self isolation buddies! Mornings with the mob are the best.”
