Gwen Stefani Never Thought She Would Kiss Anyone Again Before Meeting Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani is opening up about life before meeting Blake Shelton. 

The “Hollaback Girl” singer and the “Austin” singer's love story is an interesting one as they both fell in love shortly after divorcing their former partners. In 2021, they exchanged vows at the Oklahoma native’s ranch. 

Now, the actress is openly discussing her marriage to Shelton and how it worked out.

According to People Magazine, the three-time Grammy winner appeared on an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” where she conversed about meeting Shelton at a dire point and their life together.

"You are coming up on your two-year anniversary to Blake Shelton,” asked Barrymore. Replying to this, the “Rich Girl” singer explained saying, “God put us together. It was one of those situations where I didn't see it coming.”

Afterward, Stefani recounted how she and the 46-year-old met. The duo met as fellow coaches for "The Voice" in 2014. 

"I was like, 'I'm gonna wake up every day, I'm gonna have a coffee, I'm gonna take care of my kids, and then I'm gonna go to bed.' Like I'm never gonna kiss anyone," recalled the No Doubt member. However, things didn’t go as she planned as there was a surprising twist. “I thought my life was over, and then Blake Shelton’s like, 'Hey. I'm Blake Shelton”, she stated. 

Barrymore, who was paying rapt attention to the singer, noted that she thinks it is “possible” to coincidentally fall in love. 

The 53-year-old further detailed her love life, saying, “Finding a best friend, someone that is on the same plane when it comes to morals, or just the way you look at life, that's the dream."

She continued explaining their chemistry. “We think the same about things, yet we’re so different. Like, he’s watching football and doing his stuff that he does, and I’m putting makeup on. We're so different, yet we're so the same on so many levels."

Highlighting the couple’s romantic structure, Barrymore added, "That's the perfect balance because opposites attract, expand each other's horizons and also give a little room for individuality."

Prior to her appearance on the show, the couple marked two years of being engaged. Per reports from The Blast, the “Wind It Up” singer took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone. 

She shared a photo of her and her beau kissing while she flashed her huge diamond ring for the camera. “2 years ago today @blakeshelton”, she captioned the intimate snap. 

Their epic love story has drawn the attention of fans and other celebrities, including Camila Cabello. The “Havana” singer admitted to admiring the cute couple and how they openly celebrate their love. 

In an episode on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the Cuban- American gushed about the veteran couple, saying, “They’re so adorable. I asked them, ‘What is the key? You know you guys have been together cause they’re so happy and in love. It’s so real.“ She further disclosed that the pair told her the secret to their long-lasting relationship. 

“What they say about their key to like being so happy is that they’re best friends, and they make each other laugh like they’re laughing all the time,” Cabello revealed. 

Back in July,  the adorable pair made headlines when they went all out celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

They showered love on each other with beautiful tributes on Instagram. The "God Gave Me You" singer posted a snap of them smiling brightly on their wedding day. 

As for the caption, he penned, “Happy anniversary to the woman that makes my world go round.. @gwenstefani, because of you, this year has been the best year of my life. I love you!!!! Thank you for saying yes!”

Stefani sweetly replied to the post in the comments. “my dream man – thank u God!!! gx,” she gushed.

Also, the No Doubt lead vocalist took to her own Instagram to express her love for her man. “1 year down, forever to go @blakeshelton.” the designer captioned the post, which was a video montage of the lovebirds.
