Perry Has Sworn Off Dating Apps

He added, “I’m not sure how… but that’s not the way to do it.”

Given Perry’s years-long battle with addiction and his current path to recovery, he was asked if he looks for a romantic partner who is sober.

“That would be good. But it’s not a necessity,” he admitted. “I wouldn’t like to be with somebody who drank so much that you couldn’t recognize them. That would not be good. … But I don’t have any rules about that.”

Perry has dated many beautiful, smart and successful women over the years.

His list of former girlfriends includes Julia Roberts, Lizzy Caplan and more A-List celebrities.

He explained to Diane Sawyer why he has broken up with many of these “wonderful” women.

“It was a combination of feeling like I wasn’t enough, feeling like I was needy, feeling like I didn’t matter,” Perry said. “I’d be in relationships that were going great, and … I’d get scared.”

Perry recently came under fire for sharing a well-kept secret between him and Valerie Bertinelli.

He claims that they made out while she was still legally married to the late-Eddie Van Halen.

In an excerpt from his upcoming memoir, the “Friends” actor said that the make-out session took place right next to the rock musician, who was unconscious due to alcohol.

He also claimed that he was in love with Bertinelli, despite her being out of his league. In response to Perry’s reveal, the 62-year-old actress posted a video of herself squirming and waving on TikTok with a caption that read that she was mortified by some of the things she did as a young adult. Lots of fans have now called out the actor for exposing the scandalous make out session.

In a TikTok video, Bertinelli seemed to have addressed claims in Perry’s upcoming memoir that she had a make-out session with him when she was still married to rock star Eddie Van Halen.

Playing in the background of the clip she posted was Taylor Swift’s brand-new song, “Anti-Hero,” which has made headlines since it debuted a few days ago.

“Anyone misbehave in their 20s and early 30s? Are you mortified?” read the caption written on the video, per Insider.

In the clip, Bertinelli grins and shakes her head awkwardly, as Swift voices the lyrics, “It’s me, hi, I’m the problem. It’s me.”
