Woman Drops Lawsuit Against Chris Brown Over Alleged Rape Inside Of His Home

A lawsuit filed by a woman alleged she was sexually assaulted inside the home of singer Chris Brown has just been dismissed.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, on April 16, 2020, a dismissal was filed in the case for all parties involved. The dismissal was filed by, Jane Doe, who brought the case against the singer.

Jane Doe's lawyer, Gloria Allred's, law firm filed the document stating the entire case should be dismissed from the court.

It is unclear if Chris settled the case, and no monetary settlement agreement is mentioned in the filing.

As we previously reported, Chris Brown was sued after a woman claims she was repeatedly raped by a friend of his during a drug and alcohol-fueled party back in 2017.

In the lawsuit, the woman accused the singer of trying to give her cocaine, molly, and marijuana before the alleged sexual assault took place. According to the suit, the woman says she was invited to the singer's home in the early morning hours of February 24, 2017, after a concert.

While inside the home, she claims in the lawsuit, a "hard-core" party was going down and that Brown had guns laying out in the open, including one in his waistband.

At some point, she claims she was lured upstairs where she claims loud pornographic movies were playing and other attendees of the party were committing sexual acts.

Jane Doe says that she was repeatedly raped by a friend of Brown's named, Lowell Grissom, in several areas of the home. At the same time, the alleged victims says her cell phone was taken from her at the party. So, after her mother grew increasingly concerned she was not answering, she called the police.

The woman sued Chris Brown and Grissom for sexual battery, gender violence, battery, and assault.

Jane Doe's attorney, Gloria Allred, said during a press conference after the case was filed in L.A. County Court, “This is one of the most horrific cases involving alleged sexual assaults that I have ever seen." She said, at the time, her client had been “severely traumatized.”

As for a possible settlement in this case, Chris Brown's lawyer said the woman had demanded $17 million from the singer and claimed, “My investigation shows that none of these allegations are true,” adding, “Chris is a target.”

Allred responded to the allegation, saying, “I never made a demand for any amount of compensation whatsoever, let alone a demand for $17 million.”

As we said, the dismissal does not mention any financial settlement. But, the case has been dropped.
