Raven Ross Was Shocked That SK Alagbada Said "No" At The Altar

"We have a very unique and complex set of circumstances," Alagbada, 34, said at their wedding. "I feel like today is not the best time for us to do this."

Ross, 29, told PEOPLE that how things turned out came as a surprise for her. "I was clearly really shocked. I feel like the whole time, I was definitely not portrayed as an emotional person," she said. "So it was probably shocking for everyone to see me be such a crybaby. But it was a really emotional day."

Ross said she was not prepared for the outcome that came to be. "I definitely was unprepared. We had gone through this whole experience," she said. "I was definitely on cloud nine after our build-up of having a great relationship, so I was a little shocked."

Raven And SK's Romantic Journey Was Nontraditional

Ross originally connected with Alagbada, as well as Bartise Bowden in the pods. While Bowden poured his heart out to Ross about his parents' divorce, he could hear her doing jumping jacks, and things changed for the two. Ross, a pilates instructor owned up to her poorly timed workout telling PEOPLE, "I'm going to own up to it. It was a horrible time to do jumping jacks. I totally take accountability for that." Their relationships in the pods ended shortly after and Bowden got engaged to Nancy Rodriguez while Ross moved forward with Alagbada.

Their romantic journey was a bumpy one. From meeting family and friends to discussions of relocating and struggling to form an intimate connection, their story had moments of complications. But none of that seemed to deter Ross from wanting a life with Alagbada. "I couldn't imagine a world without you," Ross told Alagbada at the altar. "I think we have a great future ahead of us and I really mean it when I say I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

SK Didn't Think Their Full Love Story Was Shown On The Show

Alagbada felt that viewers of the hit Netflix show didn't get to see the full extent of the couple's love story. "I think Raven and I's story, the way it was portrayed on the show, I kind of feel bad watching it, especially from the perspective of the audience, because a lot of our love story wasn't completely told in the way it was portrayed," he told PEOPLE. "The narrative focused a lot more on some other subjects and some other incidents in the show. I feel like the audience missed out on that love story, on how it even came to be. If I were watching it myself, not being in the experience, I would have a lot of blanks."

Ross shared some of her experience on her Instagram page. In her most recent post, a photo of her with Alagbada, she thanks everyone for following their journey. Her post captioned, "Thank you to everyone who’s been following and supporting our journey so far! It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to share even more. And keep the fan pages coming my hearttttttttt this is my favorite picture ever 🥰😍✨" received more than 17,000 likes and tons of positive comments.
