He continues, “once officers arrived, they came up on a make who was deceased.” He went on to state that the male was positively identified as the Migos rapper whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball.
Chief Finner was perplexed as he took a moment to pause and add his own side thought. “Sometimes the hip hop community gets a bad name and I know evident from this city and people who I have a personal relationship, a lot of great people in the hip hop community and I respect them,” he said sternly.
He swiftly went back to the topic at hand, the investigation in which he claims he has received “many calls from Houston and outside of Houston and everyone spoke of what a great young man this is, how peaceful he is,” claims the Chief.
Police Want Justice For Takeoff’s Family

Sgt. Michael Arrington stepped in to share more details about the eventful night. Through interviews with the employees of the establishment, they found out that a private event was held there earlier, and afterward an altercation took place.
This “led to an argument in which the shooting took place.” Sgt Arrington stated that many people fled the scene, and they now need those people to “step up” and give statements. They even offered to stay anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers.
He basically begged for “any information”. He also noted that many people are actually sending information to the media and not the police, “We do know that the media is receiving a lot of phone calls, text messages, Twitter, tweets, vines, videos; we need all of y’all to send those to us,” he says. He went on to state that they want “justice for his family.”
