Singer Cormac Roth lost his battle with cancer on October 16th, dying at the age of 25. His family announced the musician's death in a loving statement on October 31st, calling Roth the "embodiment of kindness." They also wrote that Roth was a "gentle soul" whom they would carry wherever they went.

Roth was a talented producer, guitarist, and composer who graduated from Bennington College. He's survived by his brother, Hunter Roth, and parents, Nikki and Tim Roth. The musician's last Instagram post was on August 17th, and it was a video of him reminding fans that life is short and asking them to "be an undeniable force."

Roth revealed that he'd been diagnosed with cancer in November 2021 in an Instagram video of him playing his guitar. He captioned it with a statement about his cancer experience, saying cancer had deeply affected his body but not his will to survive or his love of music. He also advised fans to "be well and go to the doctor."

Cormac Roth's Family Announced His Death

Roth's family announced that he'd died on October 16th after battling germ cell cancer for more than a year. The statement read per Variety, "He was a wild and electric ball of energy and his spirit was filled with light and goodness. As wild as he was, Cormac was also the embodiment of kindness." They wrote that the late Roth was a "gentle soul" who showed happiness and joy to everyone in his life.

The statement continued, "The grief comes in waves, as do the tears and laughter, when we think of that beautiful boy across the 25 years and 10 months that we knew him. An irrepressible and joyful and wild and wonderful child. Only recently a man. We love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go."

Cormac Roth Was A Guitarist And Producer

Roth was an extremely talented composer, guitarist, and music producer who graduated from Bennington College. He is survived by his brother Hunter Roth and parents, Tim and Nikki Roth. His last post on Instagram was a video on August 17th, which featured a closeup of him talking to fans.

In the video, Roth said that he's been "blown away" by the millions of people with so much talent on Instagram. He said, "What you guys make is incredible," and advised fans to "to sink your teeth in" and enjoy their lives because "life is short, and you don't always get to choose your destiny."

Cormac Roth Revealed His Cancer Diagnosis In 2021

In July this year, Roth revealed that he'd been diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer. He posted a video of him playing on his guitar in a dark room, with his face focused on his chords and with a clean-shaven head, which is common in cancer patients because of their treatment.

Roth wrote, "In November of 21 I was diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer. Since then I've been fighting it daily, throwing everything I can at it. Chemo, high dose chemo, medication, transplants, transfusions, surgeries etc."

He explained that he had germ cell cancer, also known as choriocarcinoma, which is a rare "malignant, fast-growing tumor." According to Roth's statement, his cancer affected his hearing and made him lose about 60 pounds. He wrote, "It [cancer] will continue its murderous path until I can manage to stop it somehow, and kill it."

Cancer Never Affected His Love For Music

Despite the devastating impact of cancer on Roth's body, he wrote in the post that it never affected his "will to survive" or his "love for making music." He wrote, "It hasn't taken me down yet. If you or someone you love is effected [sic] by cancer, please feel free to reach out for it is an emotional rollercoaster unlike anything else."

As the post wrapped up, Roth shared some advice with his followers. He wrote, "Love to you all, please make sure to do the things that you love. Life is short. It is chaos. And you never know when it's going to be you." Finally, the musician wished all his fans to be "well and go to the doctor. F*ck cancer."
