"SNL" alum Chris Redd recently revealed that he was doing fine following an attack and showed off his battle scars after the unexpected attack on Wednesday. An unidentified man in a security uniform punched the actor in the face right before his show at the Comedy Cellar in NYC. Witnesses rushed Redd to the hospital as he had bleeding injuries on his face.

The "Saturday Night Live" star who canceled his scheduled performance to get treatment, recently shared an update on the attack. The star shared photos of his injuries and recovery process. Regardless of the incident, the comedian smiled through the pain in the pictures of his face after the brutal encounter.

He's also excited about his upcoming stand-up special and promoted it in the caption of three pinned clips on his Instagram page. Fans are equally excited about it, as they expressed in the comments. The hour-long special will premiere on HBO Max on November 3rd and reveal some personal parts of Redd's life.

Chris Redd Is 'OK And Healing Fast'

In a post shared on his IG stories, the comedian revealed that he was doing fine and "healing fast" after the surprise attack from the unknown assailant.

The attack left a huge scar on the "Handsome" star's nose, as seen in the new photos. The pictures which TMZ shared showed Redd's swollen eyes and a stitched-up nose injury. While the star is recovering quickly, the NYC Police Department is yet to find out who the assaulter was.

As they previously reported, Redd got out of his car at 9:04 pm in front of the Greenwich Village Comedy Cellar when an unknown man ran up to him and punched him in the face. The attacker then snatched away Redd's chain, which he recovered after it fell apart on the floor.

Following this, witnesses of the crime rushed the actor to Bellevue hospital for treatment. He bled on the streets and stairs in front of the comedy club, as seen in a clip TMZ shared. While the police were patrolling the area at the time, the attacker fled before they could reach him.

However, they are still looking into the incident to find out the identity of the attacker and the motive behind his actions. They are also gathering surveillance footage of the attack in hopes of finding a lead. Regardless of the encounter, Redd was happy to be alive.

While the star dealt with some aftermath of the attack, like being forced to cancel his show and take time off to recover from his injuries and the trauma of the attack, he was grateful to be alive. The recovery photos showed the "Disjointed" actor smiling amid the pain of his facial injuries.

According to TMZ, the star felt fortunate and happy and is looking forward to performing again. Redd is also pumped up about his upcoming stand-up special, which focuses on an interesting part of his career as an actor and a comedian.

The star, who has yet to reveal a new date for the canceled show, plans to release a comedy special called "Why Am I Like This?" on November 3rd. The HBO Max project is an hour long and will show viewers some "pivotal parts of his life that made him into the person he is today," per the company's statement.

Redd will also talk about some struggles with his career, especially the feeling that he was "living someone else's dream." He recently shared several clips from his New York performances to promote the upcoming special.

In the caption of one of them, he wrote, "14 years of hustle…countless amount of shows. Years of running around doing dumb sh*t…and being *almost* scandal free all lead to this!!" Fans also anticipate the new project as they expressed excitement in the comments of his recent posts.

In response to the posts promoting his show, several fans and celebrities expressed their excitement for Redd. Fellow comedian and Instagram influencer Vinny Fasline wrote, "Congrats man, hard work and a long time comin." Other stars like Sandy Benjamin, Wayna Music, Adwin Brown, and Cathy Marks also congratulated him.
