Kristen Doute appeared on Scheana Marie‘s podcast, Scheananigans on April 10, where she opened up about where she currently stands with her former boyfriend, Brian Carter.
Following a number of ups and downs between the two of them on the eighth season of the Bravo reality show, Kristen explained to her co-star that she and Carter, who she split from in September of last year, are finally on good terms with one another and have continued to co-parent their dogs in the months since their split.
“We are doing the best we can to co-parent the dogs, and by that I mean the dogs are with me during quarantine,” Kristen explained.
According to Kristen, who featured moments from her relationship with Carter in her upcoming book, He’s Making You Crazy: How to Get the Guy, Get Even, and Get Over It, she and Carter communicate through text messaging once in a while.
“He texts me once and a while to check on them, asking if there is a way he can keep them for a couple of days,” she shared.
“But honestly, that’s all we talk about,” Kristen continued of her dog-related chats with her ex-boyfriend.
While Kristen and Carter are no longer spending time with one another socially, as they did for months after their breakup, Kristen made it clear to Scheana that she holds no ill will towards him.
“I have nothing but love and respect for him. I’ve moved on. I believe he’s doing the same,” she explained.
Weeks ago, Kristen confirmed she is dating someone new but didn’t reveal the name of her mystery man.
As fans have been seeing for the past few months, Kristen and Carter’s final moments together have been seen on Vanderpump Rules season eight and during season seven, many of Kristen’s friends and co-stars, including Katie Maloney and Stassi Schroeder, expressed concern over the drama between them.
“[We are] staying cordial and cool. [There’s] nothing to tell. We went through the ringer for long enough,” Kristen stated.
During season seven, Katie and Stassi actually got into an argument with Carter at Kristen’s old apartment.
While Kristen said that she and Carter are co-parenting their dogs, she also told Scheana on her podcast that the two pets are currently living with her.
Kristen then said Carter is able to see them as frequently as he pleases.
“They live with me and they can see him whenever he wants to see them as long as he’s at home,” she explained.
To see more of Kristen, Carter, and their co-stars, don’t miss new episodes of Vanderpump Rules season eight on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
