Danica Patrick and boyfriend Aaron Rodgers were on the trip of a lifetime in Peru last month when the coronavirus pandemic hit and they were forced to leave the country and head home to quarantine. Now the workout guru and former race car driver is sharing a pic of the vacation.

Patrick posted a shot of her and Rodgers at the peak of Machu Picchu Mountain.

"Made it back a month ago from Machu Picchu by the skin of our teeth. What an amazing sight to see and FEEL! I can’t wait to travel again! I’m a good homebody, but I love to see the world. There is so much beauty out there!!!!" she wrote.

"I think it’s also the easiest way to let go of cultural biases. We are more alike than different. And if we are different..... sometimes it’s better.... And I learn something," she continued.

"I know it’s a tough time right now with work and money, but if you have the ability to plan a trip, it’s a great time to research. Might even be some good deals out there too! And if you can’t, dream into it for the future!"

Last month, Rodgers was a guest on Pat McAfee's radio show and talked about how they barely made it out of the country.

"Nobody was chasing us, thankfully, or holding us," Rodgers said. "We didn't have to speak Farsi to get back into the country, but there were some moments where we worried we were not going to get out. When we rolled up to the airport at, like, 7 in the morning, it was wall-to-wall people and you couldn't move. I was thinking, 'This isn't very safe.' Not many masks on, and there was definitely a panic in the air.

"Somehow [we] made it through, and then they shut the airport down because it was really bad weather," Rodgers continued. "They had a drop-dead time where they were going to shut the entire airport down. We made it by about 15 minutes."

Heath officials are urging people to remain in their homes as much as possible and avoid all social gatherings. Additionally, the CDC has issued some tips for helping to avoid contracting the disease.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Stay home when you are sick.

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
