Singer Chaka Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens, calls out artists who make use of auto-tune and wants them to look for a career elsewhere. The famous diva is known for her tracks like "Through the Fire," "I Feel for You," "Ain't Nobody," and several others.
Chaka, along with several celebrities, attended the 26th iteration of the Angel Ball held to raise money for Gabrielle's Angel Foundation. The foundation was established to provide support for researchers, scientists, and medical experts in their search for a world without cancer.
The charity's website revealed that around 92 cents of each dollar the Angel Ball fundraising provided would be donated to the cancer-free cause.
During the Monday night event, Chaka talked about artists who had to use auto-tune in their music. She advised that they take a step back from the music industry and seek a job in a post office.

Chaka Khan Says Singers Using Auto-Tune Need To Find Another Job
Chaka was among the numerous artists who attended and performed at the Angel Ball. While talking to Page Six, the "I'm Every Woman" singer spoke about music and how much she was impressed with the quality of work some younger artists have put out.
"There is some great stuff out there, and there are some great artists," Chaka said. "There's some very fine young artists out there doing great great work that I am impressed with." The icon got a bit spicy when talking about other musicians who depended on auto-tune to make music. According to the "Ain't Nobody" singer, they needed to take a job at the post office.
"But the others, they just need to get them a job at the Post Office — they are always hiring!" Chaka continued. "People are using Auto-tune. They need to get to the Post Office quick."
Chaka Khan Says Female Artist Have Low Self Esteem
Chaka also talked about how several of the most talented female singers had very low self-esteem, which deeply saddened her. "I feel very sad. It saddens me deeply that so much… insecurity is present in these girls. They really need to know that they are the gold and that they really are precious," the artist said per Page Six.
Chaka was among the several artists who performed in the annual fundraiser. She started her performance with her hit track, "Tell Me Something Good," and ended it with "I'm Every Woman."
The fundraiser was held for the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, which was founded by Denise Rich. The singer and songwriter launched the annual fundraiser in honor of Gabrielle, her daughter, who died from Hodgkin's disease and leukemia at 27.
Angel Ball Raised $2.8 Million
The 26th annual gala and auction, Angel Ball, was held in Manhattan's financial district for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. During the event, Rich told the audience that her daughter's last wish was to found a charity dedicated to funding cancer research. Over $35 million has been raised since its founding.
This year's iteration of the gala raised $2.8 million from several supporters and donors at the event. A small amount of the attendees include designer Tommy Hilfiger, Lee Daniels, Star Jones, Margaret Josephs, and Mayor Eric Adams.
The auction part of the event included the sale of artwork by artists like Mr. Brainwash, a Spaniard getaway, and a pair of Lorraine Schwartz earrings. John Paulson and Michael Vranos were also part of this year's event. The two are longtime supporters of the foundation.
Chaka Khan Doesn't Want To Sing With Another Woman
While talking to VladTV in 2020, Chaka was asked what she thought of working with pop sensation Ariana Grande. The artist revealed that while she thought the younger singer was "alright," she had no intention of working with her or any other woman.
"F*ck her," Chaka notably said. "She's good on her own. She don't need me. Plus, I don't wanna sing with another woman." She said she'd prefer to get her message across "by [herself]."
Despite her comment, the duo recorded "Nobody" earlier as part of the latest "Charlie's Angels" soundtrack. The song was released in 2019, and Chaka did not have any good comments in particular about it. When asked about the track, she said, "It's not gonna change the world, OK?"
