What Happened Between Peacock And 'Girls5Eva?'

"Girls5Eva" tells a story about a girl group continuing to persevere, despite having countless odds stacked against them. As it turns out the show itself has now experienced a similar type of fate!

According to Deadline, "Girls5Eva" had quietly been canceled by Peacock earlier this year.

The outlet also revealed that the cult TV series "wasn't one of its most-watched shows and didn't bring in the same audiences that the likes of [Peacock] dramas 'Bel Air' and 'Dr. Death' did."

Deciding the fate of "Girls5Eva" had reportedly been a difficult decision for Peacock.

'Girls5Eva's New Home Endures A Challenging Year

Despite the seemingly bleak forecast for the series' chance of survival the series was later rescued by an extremely well-known streaming service and the cast and crew are elated!

In a year when one of the biggest and most popular streaming services available has faced a number of setbacks, "Girls5Eva''s arrival is extremely exciting for Netflix.

Earlier this Summer, The Blast took a look at the string of ups and downs for the company, which involved a large number of employee layoffs and a staggering number of subscriber cancellations.

We also reported on a company memo sent out to employees which expressed the intention to "Keep only our highly effective people" on board at the company.

A selection from the memo reads, "As employees, we support the principle that Netflix offers a diversity of stories, even if we find some titles counter to our personal values."

The company also issued a word of warning for those employees who may take issue with elements of the aforementioned material.

"Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. If you find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the place for you," the message also stated.

Our former report also detailed the company's intention to implement a stricter set of rules regarding password sharing. Subscribers were also not happy with Netflix's decision to go forward with increasing their monthly subscription costs.
