Kanye West is currently in the middle of a nasty controversy that is negatively affecting his net worth, and it is a result of the anti-semitic rhetoric he has been pushing off late.
However, sources close to the rapper have now revealed that he has a long history of being an anti-semite that can be traced back to an unhealthy love of Adolf Hitler.
The German dictator was responsible for the heinous genocide of European Jews during World War II, which we have all come to know as the Holocaust.
Kanye West Reportedly Greatly Admired Dictator Adolf Hitler
Anonymous sources close to the Yeezy founder disclosed to CNN that West, who now goes by the name Ye, has a deep admiration for Hitler and even wanted to go as far as naming his 2018 album after the German politician.
A former business associate of the rapper anonymously told the publication that Ye’s love for Hitler resulted in a hostile work environment because he was "obsessed" with the notion of gaining power like the late dictator.
According to the unnamed executive, "He would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people."
The said business associate revealed that he left his position with Ye’s company after making a harassment complaint. However, he eventually reached a settlement with the rapper, who vehemently denied allegations of harassment.
Per the source, the 24-time Grammy Award winner was deeply invested in being like Hitler that he often publicly spoke about reading the dictator’s 1925 autobiographical manifesto, "Mein Kampf," and supported Hitler and the Nazis’ propaganda against the Jews.
Making things worse, the insider claimed that many people in the rapper’s inner circle were "fully aware" of his love for the disgraced leader but didn’t caution him about it. For his 2018 album, which he initially wanted to name after the dictator, the Donda Academy founder eventually settled for "Ye."
This isn’t the first report that has discussed the "Good Morning" rapper’s adoration for Hitler. Earlier this month, former TMZ reporter Van Lathan alleged that the 45-year-old declared his love for the late politician during an interview with the famous media outlet.
Lathan, during an episode of his "Higher Learning" podcast, claimed, "I’ve already heard him say that stuff before. I’ve already heard him say that stuff before. I mean, I was taken aback because that type of anti-Semitic talk is disgusting. But as far as him, I knew that that was in him because when came to TMZ, he said that stuff, and they took it out of the interview."
The former reporter shared that he tried to give the rapper a rebuttal but was only met with more shocking claims about his love for the Nazis and Hitler.
Ye’s Billionaire Status In Jeopardy Over Anti-Semitic Remarks
While Ye has seemingly gotten away with his anti-Semitic remarks in the past, that hasn’t been the case recently. After the fashion designer took to Twitter earlier this month to spew harmful rhetoric, all things around him descended into absolute chaos.
The tweet in question read, "I’m going death con three on Jewish People The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda."
The Atlanta native has since been losing deals left and right, with brands fleeing from him. It first started with JPMorgan Chase confirming they are closing all of Ye’s accounts with them. Afterward, brands like Balenciaga, Vogue, Gap, and Adidas released statements announcing they were cutting ties with him.
However, the deadliest of the ended deals comes from Adidas, which reportedly accounted for over a billion dollars of his net worth. The sportswear corporation that had initially placed its collaboration with Ye under review ended their partnership earlier this week.
"After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products, and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect," the released statement read.
According to Forbes, the terminated deal means Ye’s net worth is now around $400 million, with income now coming from a few sources such as his music catalog, cash, and a 5% stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand.
