Kate Beckinsale's latest Instagram update turned into pun territory in under 60 minutes. The 46-year-old actress' razor-sharp wit was alive and well on Friday as she took to the platform with a screenshot of what appeared to be an ad for an adult toy – the "Underworld" star's caption stated her to be "unknowingly advertising egg-shaped sex toys" ahead of Easter.

With a four-star store rating from 793 users, the New Women's Relaxation Toy Super Soft Stimulation Toy seemed a popular product. Kate herself now seems more popular by having shared the below photo.

Kate's snap showed an old photo of her striking a sultry pose while wearing a skimpy black dress with a thigh-grazing finish and revealing neckline. Taking up the bulk of the image was the toy being advertised, with small circular embeds showing the various ways the product can be used.

Kate wrote:

"Apparently I’ve started unknowingly advertising egg-shaped sex toys just in time for Easter. There’s no end to my entrepreneurial spirit in lockdown, it seems. If they are sold out obviously do feel free to experiment with a regular chicken egg."

Kate's 4.1 million followers seemed 100% up for the fun. Alongside leaving the Brit over 27,000 likes in an hour, they more than voiced their approval via replies.

"Makes you wonder who came first," one fan wrote.

"Kate B-egg-onsale," another said.

"Eggcelent. Sorry," a third wrote.

A comment mentioning ads in India got a reply from the star – "You don't know half of it here in India, you are endorsing hair salons and beauty parlors," the fan wrote.

Kate's social media has proven a headline maker over the past year. 2019 saw the actress reveal her vagina name – it's Harold Wilson – with posts often seeing the actress spot phallic objects in ordinary settings. It's been seen with fireplace ornaments, with Kate also pointing out that Kelly Ripa's "Live! With Kelly and Ryan" set has phallic faucets.

More recently, Kate has been updating her account as she quarantines, with hilarious updates showing her cats cuddling up to Cadbury Creme Eggs. The star also wowed her followers with a tiny shorts yoga video – seen below.

COVID-19 has also seen Kate make headlines for cleaning her kitchen surfaces while listening to Chas & Dave's "Rabbit" – the video made headlines for clocking 1 million views as Kate wore a mouse-like look of white face paint and twin bun knots, also proving comical as her cat watched the whole thing.

March 17 brought a more serious post, though, as Kate addressed the global pandemic.

"In these horrid uncertain times with everyone trying to look after themselves, so many of my dearest English friends have independently of each other offered to help my mum. None of them live nearby and all of them are among the best and kindest people in the world with their own families and responsibilities and fears," she wrote, adding:

"Within all the terror is the absolute grace of kindness. Let’s all pass it on any way we can. It’s the light in the dark. I love you people xxx"
