Tammy Rivera took a bold step recently to pay her father a visit in jail and it was no doubt an emotional experience for her. Growing up without a parent in the picture can be quite hard on some kids. Sometimes, it may not look that way, but there are aspects of a child’s life that parents ought to fill up no matter what. Unfortunately, situations cannot always be in people’s favors as some situations can lead to the total absence of one or two parents at a time.

Rivera, who played a role in the Season 1 finale of a television show called Waka & Tammy: What The Flocks, was seen visiting, Oscar Rivera in prison. Oscar has been remanded in prison for many years now, so, he has definitely missed out on a lot in his child’s life.

However, going to see him was not only a bold move on Rivera’s part it was also an emotional gesture for viewers. Seeing the daughter you never saw grow up will no doubt have erupted certain memories for Oscar.

Oscar was only 13-years-old when he was forced to join a gang. Although he tried his best to leave that lifestyle behind by taking a shot at the military, things did not pan out well for him. In no time, Oscar was back to what he was running from for a long time.

One thing led to a bad incident that resulted in the death of an unknown individual and Oscar decided to come forward. He later took a plea deal after spilling everything he knew about the incident and was charged with second-degree murder.

When the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum was only a teenager, her father was sent to 17 years in prison to life. He has been locked up for over thirty years and counting. Per the visit made by Rivera in October 2019, no film-record was allowed between father and daughter. However, the television personality shared with her fans on Instagram that she had not seen her father in over 19 years and decided to go visit him.

She also mentioned that she was about 14 when her father was sentenced to prison.

She also noted that her daughter was also 14 the first time she met Oscar.

“He will be home NEXT YEAR! Speaking it as it it has already been done! Me and Charlie cried when it was time to leave.” She said.

Oscar and Rivera started talking via letters in 2015 and from that, they learned a lot bout each other. One thing that Rivera is most grateful for, is that her mother always talked about Oscar when she was younger. According to her, although she had not grown up with him, she felt like she did and it’s all thanks to her mom.
