There could be much worse places to be stuck while in quarantine than the Bahamas, right? For former ‘Laguna Beach’ star Kristin Cavallari and her footballer husband Jay Cutler, this vacation was somewhat never-ending. What began as a quick trip with their family and a few friends ended up becoming a 3-week ordeal which left them stuck in the Bahamas due to the coronavirus pandemic. The group was unable to get a flight off the island due to the lockdown measures in place, which kept them on the empty island for three weeks.
Cavallari did confirm on Tuesday through Instagram, that the group did indeed get off the island. She wrote, “We had a short window to get out of the Bahamas so we jumped all over it.” Justin Anderson, who has been stuck on the island with the group, was making the best of a bad situation. Anderson, who is a celebrity hairstylist, has also been posting photos of the trip but has kept a positive note throughout the entire vacation ordeal.
Anderson shared on IG a week ago a photo of himself and husband Austin Rhodes, with Cavallari and Cutler with a caption that read, “i meannnn let’s get real for a second- spending FOURTEEN days not spending time with anyone else is nuts, but we’ve done it. AND i still love each of them. that’s pretty solid ???♥️ the family that quarantines together, stays together… ?? stay tuned ya filthy animals!” The quarantine went on for another week after the post.
The social media posts of the group were upbeat and fun, with many IG fans living vicariously through them enjoying the clear blue waters and sugar sand beaches. However, Cavallari did receive a lot of backlash from fans who thought her posting of paradise was tone-deaf for what else was going on in the world. One fan wrote, “You’re relentless with this crap. Jeez” while another wrote, “Agree super annoying. We are going through a major health crisis. Is this really the right thing to be posting?”
However, what many fans were forgetting was that the group was stuck during their time in the Bahamas, and were seemingly making the best of a bad situation. As of Monday, the Bahamas had 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus, resulting in five deaths. While Cavallari and her crew remained on the island for three weeks in isolation, they finally were able to secure a flight home to Nashville, Tennessee. So it’s likely that you won’t be privy to any more tropical paradise pics on any of their social media pages going forward.
