NBA's Mitch Kupchak's Wife Files For Divorce After 30 Years, Demands Spousal Support

Mitch Kupchak’s wifewants out! The former basketball player is gearing up for a divorce after his wife filed to end their 30-year marriage.

Kupchak’s wife Clair Kupchak filed for divorce today, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has no minor children and is apparently focusing on splitting up their assets which include community property. Clair, a producer in the film industry is asking for spousal support in addition to having her attorney’s fees paid by her estranged husband.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Kupchak's wife says the couple officially separated on October 21, 2022. The couple’s marriage has been plagued with upset and sadness now it looks like the negatively have finally taken a toll on the couple

The professional ball player turned basketball executive had rocky moments throughout his 30-year marriage. He and Clair share two children, a son, and a daughter, unfortunately, their daughter, Alina was 15 when she tragically passed away in 2015 due to an undisclosed illness.

Alina reportedly had an illness that carried on for a significant amount of time. "The family asks for and appreciates their privacy at this difficult time and would like to express their gratitude for everyone's love, support, thoughts, and prayers," they said at the time.

At the time, Kupchak had taken over the Laker’s front office from Jerry West and had to deal with the tragedy publicly.

Just a year later, Kupchak’s son, who was 19 at the time, was accused by Canadian actress Actress Claudia DiFolco of stalking and assault. The son of the Laker’s manager allegedly slashed the tires on DiFolco’s car, poured syrup in the engine, and threw a brick through a window all supposedly because she did not "properly acknowledge" his mom at a restaurant.

He allegedly just couldn’t let go of the snub his mom received so, he apparently, “recruit three other men to terrorize plaintiff Claudia DiFolco and to vandalize her home and automobile ... in a vicious and vindictive attempt to exact revenge on behalf of his mother."

He was even allegedly caught on a security camera with “his cronies” spray painting the stones on her walkway. The couple has never spoken publicly about the accusations and eventually, everything was handled in the courts but clearly, pressure has gotten to this family in the past and it looks to be getting to them currently.

In 2017, Kupchak was fired as the GM of the Lakers but he quickly found another job in 2018 as the president of basketball operations and a little side gig as general manager of the Charlotte Hornets. After a lengthy career in professional basketball, it's clear the GM has quite a bit of wealth. Plus, having been together for 30 years, it will most likely be split right down the middle.

The bottom line, there is going to be a lot of money, and assets to split up between these two.

Mitch has yet to respond to the divorce.
